2. The verb “MAY”
S + may  Perhaps + S + will or S + will probably + V….
Look as if

Seem ….
There’s a good chance + S + will +V ….
In all probability/ likelihood + S + will + V…
It’s quite likely that + S + will + V...
Ex: The strikers may go back to work next week.

3. BE LIKELY and BE UNLIKELY
It is + fairly unlikely that + S + will + V ….
 There is little likelihood of + V-ing (or that + S + will + V...)
 There is not much chance of + V-ing (or that + S + will + V ...)
Ex: It is unlikely that our earth will be destroyed.
 There is little likehood that our earth will be destroyed.
4. THE VERB “SHOULD”
S + should + V  S + would rather + S + V (past)….
S + had better + V …...
S + ought to + V ……
Ex: Nuclear weapons ought to be banned.
 Nuclear weapons should be banned.
5. THE VERB NEED (N’T)
S = needn’t + v ...
 There’s no need to + V ….
 It’s not worth + doing sthg …
Ex: It’s not worth trying to make her change her mind.
 There’s no need to make her change her mind.
6. THE ONLY THING – BUT FOR: nếu không có….
The only thing / way/ solution be …. But for sthg + S + can/ could …
Ex: The only thing we can do is learning.
<=> But for learning we cann’t do anything.
7. SURPRISE – FANCY
What a surprise to do sthg  Fancy + doing sthg…...
Ex: What a surprise to learn a language in 24 hours!
 Fancy learning a language in 24 hours.
8. NOT SUCCEED – THERE’ S NO POINT…...
1.S + be + not worth …  It + be + pointless to do sthg….
2.S + try + but not succeed….  There’s no point in doing sthg….

Ex: I don’t see the point of re-decorating this room.

9. WRONG – CONTRARY TO …
