 Hi, I’m Thao my full name is HO THI THAO. I’m 21 years old. My hometown is
Quangtri province, I am a student in the faculty of public policy at the Academy of
Policy and Development. In my free time, I have a passion for reading book ,
watching tv and hang out with my friend . Now, I understand that reading is a good
habit that will make me a complete person.

Part 2: Monologue about a given topic (3 points – 3 minutes)

Describe a leisure activity you like doing in your free time.

You should say:

What activity it is;
How often you do it;
What equipment you need to do it;
Why you enjoy doing it.

 As I said above, I am an avid reader. Before I was a person who really hated
reading, I found reading a lot of time and very boring. Until I read books. The book
is called "live strong" by author Stephen R.Covey. Whenever I have free time,
instead of holding my phone to look at social networking sites, I will choose
reading. Now, I understand that reading is a good habit that will make me a
 complete person. Any of us can develop this hobby. In fact, I achieved this
spontaneously.

1. Why should people have more free time these days? Tại sao mọi người nên có nhiều
thời gian rảnh hơn trong ngày

 In my opinion, free time is important for happiness, when we have more free time,
we can rest and do what we like.

2. What leisure activities are typical in your country? Những hoạt động giải trí nào
điển hình ở vn

 Well, leisure and leisure activities in my country vary widely based on people's age
groups, economic and employment status, and location. However, surfing the
internet, walking in the park, and participating in sports are some of the very
popular activities in recent times.

3. Do men and women enjoy the same type of leisure activities? Why/Why not? Giữa

 I don’t think so. I believe that men and women are born with distinct characteristics
and personalities; therefore, their choices of leisure activities might also differ from
each other. For example, while men tend to be involved in sports activities, women
prefer shopping or eating with their friends to playing games.

 After graduating from university, I plan to study abroad for 2 years to hone my
knowledge and practical skills. To do that, I have constantly tried to study, outside
of classroom hours, self-study is also very important. I try to study well so that later
I can get a stable job, earn a lot of money to build a nice house for my parents, and
also make my life better.

 After finishing university, I plan to continue studying to get a bachelor's

  Everyone will have a different opinion on this matter. In my opinion, people
have a lot of ambition. Because the requirement of an increasingly improved
life will make people want more.

 In my opinion, having ambition at work is good, because having ambition at
work will motivate us to work better and faster.

 Parents always want their children to have ambition. Because goals are very

 A country that I love and have always wanted to go to. That is Thailand, a
country located close to the sea of Vietnam. It's not too far from where I live,
but I haven't had a chance to visit yet. Thailand is a beautiful country in my
eyes with many beautiful beaches such as Kata beach in Phuket, Maya Bay
(Koh Phi Phi), and Thailand is famous for many super spicy dishes. Thailand
is known as the land of the Golden Temple, I love this place so much, and I
will go there in the near future·

1. Is it important to know about other countries? Why/Why not? Điều qtr phải biết về

 It helps people to understand how the world works, to see the world through a
different lens, and in many cases,, it helps one to understand the culture they come
from. It takes away prejudice when you see different people as "HUMANS" rather
than "Them" or "They" if people took the time to understand one another the world
would be a much better place.

2. How can we benefit from learning about other countries? Làm thế nào để chúng ta
có lợi khi học hỏi về quốc gia khác

 Some of the ways that people can benefit from other cultures are in personal
relationships, and in self-improvement( cải thiện) . In personal relationships,
it is necessary to know a little about any culture. For example, I think in
Muslim cultures, shaking hands with the left hand is considered extremely
rude. If you don't know it, it could hurt your chances of getting to know each
other.
 3. What is the best way to learn about other cultures? Cách tốt nhất để tìm hiểu về
quốc gia khác

 Obviously, the best way to learn about a culture is to go there and experience
it. But you can learn a lot about other cultures just by reading books about
them.

4. How can foreign languages help us understand foreign cultures? làm thế nào ngoại
ngữ có thể giúp chúng ta hiểu được nền văn hóa nước ngoại

 I'm not sure that just learning a foreign language can help us understand the
culture of that country. In my opinion, in order to understand another
country's culture ( khân truy khâu trơ_) when studying, we need to combine
learning a foreign language and getting to know the people there.

 Well, the journey that I remember very well is the trip to Nha Trang, a resort
city on the southern coast, I came here on summer vacation in 9th grade 5
years ago. It was a trip with the whole class and the school's teachers. We go
to Vinpearl Nha Trang, there are many games, including the aquarium. I
really enjoyed this trip because it left a very good memory for me that I still
remember until now

1. What public holidays do people have in your country? Ngày lễ nào có ở đất nước b

 In Vietnam, there are 5 major holidays such as: New Year's Day, Hung
King's death anniversary, Southern Liberation Day and National
Reunification Day, International Workers' Day and National Day.

2. Which holiday do you like best? bạn thích kỳ nghỉ nào nhất

 My favorite is Hung Vuong's death anniversary. Because that day reminds

me of their merits in building and defending the country

3. What do people in your country usually do on that holiday? Người dân nước b làm

 On this great day, everyone will have a holiday, those who are nearby can go
there to burn incense to show gratitude to the kings·

4. Should people have more holidays? Mọi người nên có nhiều ngày nghỉ hơn
  In Vietnam there are a lot of public holidays and people will be off on those
holidays, they also get 2 weekends off and I think that's enough.

 Each country will have its own typical festivals, in Thailand, there is the
Songkran water festival, which is a festival held on New Year's Day in April
every year. Songkran water festival in Thailand means purification, washing
away all bad luck, diseases, and sins of the old year, and welcoming a new
year to come. In particular, Thai people believe that the wet, the lucky they
are, so the more people try to splash water on their opponents, making the
atmosphere of the land of the olden Temple these days become more vibrant
and bustling than ever.

 Develop your understanding of other cultures, allowing you to have more

meaningful interactions with those around you. You are building your respect

 The best way for you to learn about another culture is to go there to
experience it, you can also find out through the internet or the radio.

 When we first arrive in a new place, it will be difficult for us to adapt to that

Each person always has their own dream, which is the motivation for them to work hard
and achieve success in life. I also have a great ambition to be able to earn a full scholarship
to go abroad. I know that to achieve that, it is not enough to study in class, but I have to try
to study more. Moreover, I also want to change the familiar learning environment and
make friends with people all over the world. The biggest problem when applying for an
admission is that the scholarship helps me not to worry about living costs, so I will study in
the most effective way. I know that to achieve this dream I will have to work very hard
because this ambition is not easy.

 In my opinion: A dream is simply a wish to have something beyond their

ability to see. But ambition comes from a dream, an ambitious person means

  In my personal opinion, in each different period, each person's tendency to
choose a career will be different. As in the current period, I find that careers
in information technology, tourism, and marketing are very popular with
young people

3. Is it a good idea to leave a stable job in order to pursue a dream? Bỏ một công việc

 I don't agree with the idea of giving up a stable job to pursue your dream.
Because it's not always good to "follow your dreams", especially when you
don't have anything at all!

 Lost in the Firefly Forest is a Japanese animated film, directed by Omori
Takahiro. Released in 2011, the film tells the story of Hotaru, a little girl lost
in a mystical forest where spirits live. A young man named Gin helped her
but she couldn't touch him or he would disappear. The scene that I liked the
 most in this movie was Gin's love for Hotaru, even though it was between
Humans and demons who can't live in harmony but he still quietly cares
about Hotaru

1. Have your leisure activities changed since you were a child? Các hoạt động giải trí

 My leisure activities have changed gradually over time, when I was a child I
liked light games and when I grew up, I only liked thrilling games such as
volleyball, and cycling.

2. Do you prefer to spend your free time alone or with other people? bạn thích dành

 I think it has to depend on the situation as well. When it comes to some spare
time after work, I'd rather just stay at home and lounge about. But on other
occasions, I believe that hanging out with a group of friends can be a great
fun. You know, the more the merrier.

 There are many ways to relax after a stressful working hour such as watching movies,
reading books, jogging, and listening to music is also a pretty good way of entertainment, it

 Pattaya is located on the southeast coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Chon Buri
province and about 165km from Bangkok. Known as a beautiful coastal city of Thailand
with characteristics like paradise: blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine. Belonging to a
tropical climate, the sea water in Pattaya is very warm and pleasant. The crescent-shaped
sand beach runs along the quiet coast, the two combine to create a charming beauty in the
eyes of travelers. Besides, activities on the beach are also one of the attractions of this
city. If you come to Thailand, Pattaya city is a city that should not be missed

  In my opinion, a good quality city needs the following 4 factors: clean city,
good security, good transportation system, good communication

2. Which do you prefer to live in a big city or the countryside? Bạn thích sống ở thành
phố hay ở nông thôn hơn?

 I was born and raised in the countryside and now live and study in the city,
and I still prefer living in the countryside because it is very peaceful there.

3. Is your hometown a good place to live in? Why/Why not? Quê hương bạn có phải là

 home for me is a very wonderful place to live where there are forests, streams
and especially my family there.
