Unicol Limited is a joint venture distillery project of Faran Sugar Mills, Mehran Sugar
Mills and Mirpurkhas Sugar mills. Unicol’s plant is located at Mirpurkhas which is
around 230 KM from Karachi.

Pakistan is presently the 5th largest country in the world in terms of area under sugar cane
cultivation and is consistently ranked in the top 10 sugar producing countries. In the last 2
decades Pakistan has consistently been ranked as one of the 3 largest molasses exporters
in the world. However since the new millennium there has been consistent investment in
ethanol distilling and now the country has become a major ethanol exporter. Ethanol
exports have increased from 100,000 Tons in 2004 to 225,000 tons in 2010. Record
highest exports of 350,000 Tons were seen in 2008.

Today there are 15 distilleries operating in Pakistan with an installed capacity of 500
million liters (400,000 Tons) and producing different grades of Ethanol. Pakistan has
proven itself to produce world quality grades of ENA Anhydrous and ENA ethanol.

The Company:
Unicol Limited, a public unquoted company, is a joint venture with shares equally held
among Faran Sugar Mills, Mehran Sugar Mills and Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills. All three
companies are listed on the different Stock Exchanges of Pakistan.

Unicol commenced its operations in August 2007 and is producing ethanol from
Sugarcane Molasses. The plant is located at Mirpurkhas, Sind on a 98 acre plot and has

designed capacity of 100,000 liters or 80 metric tons (MT) per day. The plant is designed
by Maguin Interis, France (www.maguin.com) and the Bio Gas plant is designed by
Proserpol, France (www.proserpol.com); both these companies are well recognized in
their respective fields. Unicol can produce different grades of ethanol, including ENA
Anhydrous (99.9%), ENA (>96%) and B grade (>92%).

Presently 100% of Unicol's ethanol is being exported with the majority destined for
European markets. Unicol is presently in the process of being registered as a 'CDM
project'.

Unicol, being part of economic development and providing employment in Pakistan’s

rural areas, ensures the compliance of all health, safety and environmental laws and
procedures.

Faran Sugar Mills

Faran Sugar Mills Ltd was incorporated as Public Limited Company in 1981 and its
shares are quoted on Karachi and Lahore Stock Exchanges.

The Plant is located at Shekih Bhirkio, District Hyderabad, Sind. The commercial
production started in 1983 with installed cane crushing capacity of 3,000 TCD. The
capacity of the plant is now extended to 8,000 TCD. The plant is located in the midst of
vast cane growing area, which ensures ample supply of required quantity and quality of
cane.

Mehran Sugar Mills

Mehran Sugar Mills Limited was incorporated as a Public Limited Company in

December 1965 with an installed capacity of 1,500 TCD. The company’s shares are
quoted on the Karachi Stock Exchange since May 1968. The Mill is situated in the cane
growing area of Distt. Tando Allayar (Sind) and is spread over 118 acres. This includes
Plant & Machinery, a residential estate, labor colony and a Research farm.

The capacity of the plant has gradually been increased to 7,500 TCD. The Company
received ISO 9002 Certification in 1998, which was upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 in 2004.

Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills

Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills (MSM) is part of Ghulam Faruque Group (GFG). The GFG
ranks amongst the most prominent commercial & industrial business houses in Pakistan

and is recognized for its entrepreneurial skills and valuable contribution to the economy
of Pakistan. Since its inception in 1964 the group has continuously strengthened and
diversified its lines of operations.

MSM was established in 1964 & and the plant is located in Mirpurkhas, Sind adjacent to
Unicol’s plant. It is a Public Limited company and its shares are listed on the Karachi
Stock Exchange. The current plant’s capacity is 4,750 TCD.

Profile of Management:
Mr. Aslam Faruque (Chief Executive)
He is a business graduate from the University of Pacific Stockton, USA. He is also CEO
of Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Ltd. He is on several Boards including Ghulam Faruque
Group’s different companies, State Life Corporation of Pakistan and Sui Southern Gas
Company Ltd.

Mr. Ahmed Ali Bawany (Director)

He received his B.Sc. degree in Business Entrepreneurship from University of Southern
California, USA. He earlier served on the Board of Directors of Annoor Textile Mills
Ltd. and Sind Particle Board Mills Ltd., after which he went on to become the Chief
Executive of Faran Sugar Mills Ltd. He also serves in Reliance Insurance Company as
Director and as Chairman in B.F. Modaraba.

Mr. Ahmed Ebrahim Hasham (Director)

A graduate in Economics and I.R from Tufts University USA; he is also a member of the
Board of Usman Institute of Technology, Pakistan Molasses Company Ltd, Mehran
Sugar Mills Ltd and Adamjee Insurance Company Ltd. He is member of Executive
Committee of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association.

Products:
Unicol Limited operates 100,000 liters per day distillery which can produce various
grades of ethanol including:

1. ENA Anhydrous (99.9%)

2. ENA (>96%)
3. B Grade (>92 %). The strength of our B grade is normally > 94%

Uses of our Ethanol:

The ethanol produced by Unicol has various uses in different industries like
Pharmaceuticals, Air Freshener (Aerosol), Cleaning Products, Perfumes, Personal Care
Products, Printing ink, Fabric Softener, Vinegar & Yeast, Paints and Varnish, Art, Fuel,
Preserving Agents and Chemical Manufacturing.

Mode of Shipments:
We can offer following modes of shipment:
1. Bulk
2. ISO containers
3. FCL (Full Container load)

Bulk: We can offer ethanol in bulk on FOB basis, which are loaded from our shore tank
to the vessel. The maximum quantity for one shipment is around 3000 MT. The main
destinations of our bulk shipments are Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Philippines, South
Korea, Africa, Nigeria, Indonesia, Bahrain and India.

ISO Containers: We can also offer ethanol in ISO containers on FOB as well as CFR
basis. One 20’ ISO container can load approx 18.5 – 20 MT of ethanol, depending upon
the size of the ISO container. The main destinations of our ISO shipments are UAE,
Saudi Arab, Lebanon, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan.

FCL: We can also offer the ethanol in new plastic drums (210 and 250 litres) and load it
in 20’dry container. One 20’ container can load around 13.44 MT of ethanol (80 drums
are loaded in one container). The main destinations of our FCL shipments are Syria,
Saudi Arab, UAE and Taiwan.
