Brief Introduction

On May 15, 2004, an association governed by the law of 90/31 and the decree of 04/12/1990
was founded between the members of these statutes, and those who will adhere to them later.
The association "LA ROSE D'ALGERIE" devotes all of its activities to the arts
traditional and especially popular dance and song, with around 130 members in its workforce, it
has two workshops, one reserved for the training of dancers and rhythms, and the other for
initiation to songs and music traditional of Algeria and choreography.

The Association is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sports and
the Municipality and the Directorate of Culture and House of Culture.  
The association consists of:

        - adherent members.

IT IS THE MOST WIDESPREAD DANCE THROUGH THE ALGERIAN WEST, IT CARRIED
OUT BY THE MEN TO CELEBRATE THE VICTORY AND THE PRIDE WITH MOVEMENTS
OF FEET AND SHOULDERS, ITS DANCERS EXPRESS THEIR ATTACHMENT WITH THEIR

NEHARI DANCE
The dance of Nehari came from the area of "Ouled Nehar" of Wilaya de Tlemcen Algérie Western. This dance is divided into two dances; Nehari

and Nehari Bettane. The old one is carried out by the men only; however the last is carried out by the men and of the women. The target of this

dance must show the solidarity of the men,du county during the good coatings and the bad time. It shows the agricultural activities, how the men

suffer from the dryness, long waiting for the rain and also from the division right of the harvests. The dance of N'hari is carried out by traditional

clothing and also uses the traditional musical instruments like: more arched 4, to dance Them in the dance of h' H'hari 8 man And for the woman

works the man who to live in works agricultural .

KABYLE DANCE
The Kabyle variety (modern or traditional) is one of the most important music in Algeria. Many
singers are native of Kabylia or of Kabyle origin, notably Cheikh el Hasnaoui, Lounis Aït
Menguellet, Cherif Kheddam, Cheikh Sidi Bémol, Idir, Lounès Matoub, Allaoua Zerrouki, Slimane
Azem, Cid Messaoudi, Chérifa, Youcef Abdjaoui, Ace Meslayen , Taleb Rabah, Rachid Babaci,
Takfarinas, Farid Aït Siameur, Boualem Kara, Souad Massi. Kabylia has also given some big names
to the Algerian chaabi such as Hadj M'hamed El anka and Kamel Messaoudi, Amar Ezzahi,
Abdelkader Chaou as well as Boudjemaa El ankis, Gherouabi, etc. two Algerians by birth for the
first and the second named who find their ancient roots in the mountains of Djurdjura and Bibanes.

LA ROSE D'ALGERIE, a young cultural and artistic association formed by students, teachers, workers, as well as executives.

WHY?

Contribute to the safeguard of our rich cultural heritage which suffers at present of unjustified negligence, and to know the

whole world of our way of life, and our traditional mores.

HOW? 'OR' WHAT ?

In order to achieve our objectives we have gathered in a nucleus cultural LA ROSE D'ALGERIE, which represents the main

region of the territory national where folklore has found all its richness and splendor.

WITH WHOM?

The promotion of our cultural we wanted it vocal and gestural through the performance of different dances and songs taken

from our Algeria deep it was possible for us only thanks to the experience of the members of our troop.

WHAT DO WE DO?

In the long term, we are constantly training young people; and also heritage research and of course we have exchanges

cultural through folk music and dance, whether with our neighboring countries, or distant countries, because we are convinced

that culture has no nationality.

■Section 3- City Introduction

Bel Abbès is a commune in the wilaya of Sidi Bel Abbès, of which it is the chief town3, a dynamic commercial and industrial center located 80

km from Oran, the city has 312,935 inhabitants.A resident of the city of Sidi-Bel -Abbès is called a Bel-Abessian.

The small region of Sidi Bel Abbès has long been the crucible of a population with sedentary customs concerned with agriculture and irrigation5.

The Berber lands of the region of Tessala, called Astasilis in Roman times, then judiciously wheat lands by the Arabs to qualify their fertility, are

covered with ancient ruins.

In the eleventh century, the region recorded considerable population movements born of the push of the Beni Hillal tribes and the domination

of the Almoravids. In the sixteenth century, the Spanish who wanted to settle in the country were repulsed several times, after having been

kept in check by multiple attacks in the region of Sidi Bel Abbès which cost them more than 1,000 soldiers. Their Oran refuge is taken by storm.

Sidi Bel Abbes el Bouzidi, the city’s patron saint who died around 1780, is buried under the dome of a humble “koubba” 6.

When the colonization center was created, which became the city, it was named Sidi Bel Abbes. If at the beginning there were only a few

natives around the stronghold, the settlement of many Europeans, motivated by the wealth of the land, will quickly drain the local workforce.

The city was built by the legionaries in 1843 on the banks of the Mekkera, because it is a strategic place and well irrigated. It was the captain of

the genius Prudon who designed the city. Like all the cities drawn by the genius of the military, Sidi-Bel-Abbès was built on a checkerboard plan

with fortifications and doors at each corner. Its creation was formalized by a state decree dated January 5, 1849 signed by Louis Napoléon

Bonaparte. Its first name was Biscuit Ville then, in 1859, it took the name of Bel-Abbès-Napoléon for a very short time to become Sidi-Bel-

Abbès, the name of a Muslim saint "Sidi Bel Abbes el Bouzidi".

Blacks of Touat and Gourara, Berbers of Morocco and Orania, Hamianes, Kabyles, Mozabites, Tlemcéniens, Nédromis, Chéragas (inhabitants of

the east of Oranie around Mazouna and Relizane) will settle each carrying their culture and his beliefs. Sidi Bel Abbes will soon coexist with

other oualia.

In 1968 you could still perform the ziara in many mausoleums. The most striking are the two Sidi Abd El Kader, one located at "El Campo", the

Spahi Camp. the second on a small hill overlooking Gambetta, Sidi Amar from El Gaada near Sidi Djillali. At Campo Sidi Madjmaa El Soulah, Sidi

Mohammed in El Graba, rue du Soudan. Sidi Yassine and Sidi Bouaaza El Gharbi to the south east of the city. Sidi el Mokhtar at Faubourg Thiers

and Sidi El Bachot at “caillasone”, Calle del Sol. Nestled in the municipal park, Sidi Bensekrane is less known. To these places, the rite of which

is attached to Muslim beliefs, were added the little chapel of Sidi Aîssa at Mazagran Street and Sidi Bicinti "Vicente" inside the Christian

cemetery.
