The English Writing with Thai Students

Should Thai students learn English writing with English? Many Thai teachers are
considered to this question, and they try to clarify this question for many years. English
writing is a great tool for teachers used to teach L1 and L2 students productively in the
classroom. In addition, Thai students who use L1 in their life should learn English writing
English in order to make students familiar with the language. To respond to the question,
teachers should use English to teach English writing to Thai students in the classroom
because it can make students learn effectively, it can encourage students to use English for
their life, and it can make students obtain new vocabulary.

The first important thing why teachers should teach English writing as English is that
it can make students learn writing more effectively. When teachers teach English writing as
English in the classroom, students can perceive more knowledge from what the teachers teach
to them in writing. The journal article of Wisawatana (2020) showed that when teachers teach
writing English with the original language, L1 and L2 students can write well in English
more than learning with the Thai language. It means that teaching English writing with the
original language can make students learn effectively because students used English to
communicate in the classroom when they write something, and it can develop the writing
skills of Thai students when teachers teach with English. It is important to make Thai
students learn effectively.

The second important thing why teachers should teach English writing as English is
that it can encourage students to use English in their daily life. When teachers make an
environment that fulfills with English writing, students can use the knowledge that they learn
in their life in order to communicate with others successfully. The journal article of
Parabensia (2018) suggested that teachers should teach English writing English in order to
make most students brave to use writing skills in their daily life. Additionally, teaching
English writing also promotes students to have more confidence to use writing skills to other
skills. Teaching English writing is the best thing to encourage students brave to use English
in writing.

Many Thai teachers consider that teaching English writing with English is hard for
Thai students, and it can make students have more stress. However, learning writing in
English is the best thing for students to learn new vocabulary. When teachers teach English
writing in English with them all the time in the classroom, it can promote them to obtain new
words when they write in English. According to the journal article of Kwangsawad (2021),
she showed that teaching English with the original language in the classroom is a good way
for L1 and L2 students to learn writing in school in order to obtain new vocabulary. It can
help students increase new vocabulary on their brain, and it can make students ready for their
learning in the future.

In conclusion, teachers should teach English writing to Thai students with the original
language because it can promote Thai students to learn writing in English effectively. When
students learn English writing in the classroom, they also learn new vocabulary in order to
use it in daily life. In addition, it can encourage students to brave to use English in the
classroom apart from the writing part. Even though learning English writing with English is
hard for many students in Thailand, but it is good for them in the future. Teachers should
realize to use English to teach writing to students because it is an advantage for students in
the future.
