Course Synopsis This course covers the planning process, the roles of information
professionals in planning extension services in the various types of
information agencies. Students are required to plan and implement
extension services activities, projects, or programs in an information
agency. Student will learn the technique and method used to plan and
organize an extension services activities in information agencies and
they will be able to acknowledge information agencies on the need to
maintain extension services

Course Objectives To enable students

 To initiate extension services activity for the community
 To adapt the management principles and practices in
information agencies
 To analyze roles and services offered in various information
agencies

Learning Outcomes At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
i) Understand the various types of information agencies, the types of
services in various types of information agencies
ii) Understand the meaning and scope of extension services.
iii) Analyze the various types of activities/programs categorize under
extension services and issues related to them.
iv) Understand the planning of extension services programs or
activities.
v) Identify the different groups of users according to the different type
of social, age, and physical condition.

vi) Identify the different types of extension services for different

groups of users.

vii) Explain the different kind of extension services in the various type
of information agencies.

viii) Understand and discuss the steps involved in planning and

designing an extension activities, projects, or program in different
types of information agencies.

ix) Plan, organize, and analyze an extension service activity

conducted in an information agency of their choice.

x) Produce present their proposal on specific extension services in an

information agency
