1.5.
Safety valves for GSV, GSB, and GSF screw
‘compressors can be of two different designs.
A unit will always be filled with one or more
salely/by-pass valves, which are able to blow
off the gas volume delivered by the
compressor, so that the pressure will not
exceed the working pressure of 25 ber by more
than 10% (that is, max. 27.5 bar).
Design 1:
Safety valvos for opening pressure 25 bar.
Must be connected to discharge into open air in
a safe place,
For size of discharge pipa see table.
Safety valves
Design 2:
The slandard design from Gram A/S is dosign 2
shown at the bottom of the page.
A by-pass valve is to be installed belween the
oil separator where . there is discharge
pressure, and the suction side of the ~
‘compressor (he valve has not been mounted
{rom the factory).
The by-pass valve protects the differential
pressure between the compressed gas and the
suction gas against exceeding 18 bar. If you
‘operate with working conditions where the
differential pressure is above 17 bar, contact
Gram, This method of by-passing gas requires
the mounting of an extra safely pressure
control KP7ABS, Generally this pressure
Control is factory sat to stop the compressor at
17 bar (B) and 23 bar (S)
