1. The stronger the force exerted, in every activity/ task assign.
10:50 – 11:40 AM (ARISTOTLE) the farther the toy car travels.
2. Shorter distance is traveled when
force is weak.
3. When the force applied is
stronger the toy car travelled
nearer.
4. Longer distance is traveled when
the force applied was stronger.
5. Force can change the movement
of an object.

*Introduce the new topic.

A force is a push or pull on an
object that can cause it to change
direction. When you pull a trolley,
does it move? When it moves, does
it change in position?

WHAT’S NEW
*Answer the activity (SLM p.6)

Activity: What happens to an object

when force is applied? Try to do the
following:
1. push your chair
2. pull your drawer
3. open your bag
4. stretch a rubber band
5. move the table
6. close the door
7. pulling up your pants
8. kick a ball
9. lift your bag
10. open the window

WHAT IS IT
*Discuss and explain the topic.

The force is push or pull. The

chair cannot be moved from one
place to another without force. If
you apply force, things may move.
This can change the position of the
object. Applying a large force will
make the object move faster and
applying a small force will make the
object move slower.
Force can move, stop, slow
down, or accelerate objects. It can
also change the direction in which
the object moves and change the
size and shape of the object.

WHAT’S MORE
*Watch videos
*Do the activity

Activity: Push Me!

Materials:
plastic toy car
masking tape
meter stick/tape measure

Procedures:
1. Bring out all the materials
needed.
2. Select a flat surface on the floor
and mark a starting point using a
tape.
3. Gently push the toy car with your
hand. Observe how far it moved.
Measure the distance and record it
to your task sheet.
4. Repeat step 3 for five more
times.
Task Card PUSH AND GO

Guide Questions:
1. How do you compare the
distance traveled when pushing a
toy car with different forces?
2. What do you think are the factors
that affect the movement of a toy
car?
3. Which degree of force applied
made the toy car travel the farthest
from the starting point? Nearest the
starting point?

WHAT I CAN DO
*Answer the questions briefly.

The box is quite heavy for the

delivery man to carry. What can you
suggest making the boxes easier to
carry?
What do you do when you
move glassware from one place to
another?
