17. A road roller (sometimes called a roller-compactor, or just roller) is a compactor-
type engineering vehicle used to compact soil, gravel, concrete, or asphalt in the
construction of roads and foundations. Similar rollers are used also at landfills or
in agriculture. Road rollers are frequently referred to as steamrollers, regardless of
their method of propulsion.

The Great Stupa at Sanchi is one of the oldest stone structures in India, and

19. Amul, is an Indian dairy cooperative society, based at Anand in the
Gujarat. Formed in1946, it is a cooperative brand managed by a
cooperative body, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing

23 In the given figure O is the centre of the circle. PT is the tangent drawn from 2
the point P to the circle and PAB passes through the centre O of the circle .

If PT = 8cm and PA = 4 cm then find the radius of the circle.

24 Draw a circle of radius 6 cm. From a point 10 cm away from its centre, 2
construct the pair of tangents to the circle and measure their lengths.

28 In the given figure, XY and X′Y′ are two parallel tangents to a circle with 3

Two water taps together can fill a tank in 9 hours. The tap of larger diameter

34 From the top of a building 15 m high the angle of elevation of the top of
tower is found to be 30°. From the bottom of the same building, the angle of 5
elevation of the top of the tower is found to be 60°. Find the height of the
tower and the distance between the tower and the building.

OR

A 1.5 m tall boy is standing at some distance from a 30 m tall building. The
angle of elevation from his eyes to the top of the building increases from 30°
to 60° as he walks towards the building. Find the distance he walked towards
the building.

35 The area of a rectangle gets reduced by 9 square units, if its length is reduced by 5
5 units and breadth is increased by 3 units. If we increase the length by 3 units and
the breadth by 2 units, the area increases by 67 square units. Find the dimensions
of the rectangle.

36 Prove that “In a right-angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse side is 5
equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides”
Using the result of this theorem find the length of the altitude of an
equilateral triangle of side 2a.
