The main points of the fable
1. How the town was at the beginning
The town was a place where all life seemed to live in harmony with its surroundings. The
town lay in the midst of a checkerboard of prosperous farms, with fields of grain and hillsides of
orchards.
2. How it is now
mysterious maladies swept the flocks of chickens; the cattle and sheep sickened and died,
the farmers spoke of much illness among their families, the birds had left the place, the feeding
stations in the backyards were deserted, only silence lay over the fields and woods and marsh
3. How it is predicted to be in the future
the future will be chaotic because the flora and fauna will become extinct, and this will
cause irreversible environmental damage that will cause shortages of water, food and other natural
resources necessary for life
4. A fable is a story with a lesson; so, in your opinion What is the lesson that this fable
teaches? (One or two lines)
the fable led me to become aware of the importance of natural resources in our lives, they
are what make life possible and that is why we must take care of them as much as possible since
they are limited.

greed and escape
Once upon a time there was a town located inside a wide and extensive green area, where the
inhabitants lived in peace, tranquility and did not envy each other, where the trees were so large and
leafy that they sheltered the entire territory with oxygen, where there was a great variety of species,
where the fish jumped with happiness over the crystalline river that crossed the town from north to
south, where the birds sang in the windows of the houses, sweet melodies at dawn to wake up men,
women and children announcing the beginning of a new day, and where the flowers woke up with
the soft rays of the sun that touched their delicate petals.

But it was a town that depended economically on wood, so many inhabitants dedicated several
years of their lives to being lumberjacks, so that their families could prosper, buy food and survive.
However, over the years, the forest began to have a shortage of trees and the environment began to
deteriorate, animals began to die and people became ill due to lack of oxygen. Soon, what was an
earthly paradise became an increasingly deserted place and the life of the beings that lived there
began to become more difficult. Due to this problem, the need arose to do something about it. Well,
the mayor sought a way to solve this difficulty and concern of the villagers, through the
development of a machine with the help of the villagers that returned the necessary oxygen, so that
the region would flourish again.

However, this machine needed water to be able to produce oxygen, which was bought in
neighboring towns by the mayor in order not to deplete the river in his own region. But with the
passage of time, he did not want to continue paying for the raw material which was necessary to
produce the oxygen that its inhabitants needed so much, since this caused him great losses of his
wealth. For this reason, he decided to leave his town along with his great fortune and settle in
another place where flora and fauna coexisted, and thus be able to continue progressing. So that the
citizens had to stop being lumberjacks and invent a mask that would filter the pollution that existed,
which notably harmed the population, leading them for the rest of their lives not to see each other's
faces again, nor their smiles that contributed so much to the harmony of a people, that for some time
lived the splendor of happiness and prosperity.
