1st QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL 2021

NARRATIVE REPORT
In pursuant to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
(NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 08, s. 2021(Conduct of the CY 2021 Quarterly Nationwide
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill), Matias Yusay Memorial Elementary School, headed by
Mrs. Lunalyn S. Quinto, Teacher III/Teacher-in-Charge, joined the 1st quarter National
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) last Thursday, March 11, 2021.

At exactly 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the school DRRM Coordinator rang the bell,
the sign for the commencement of the said drill. All faculty members performed the
“Duck, Cover and Hold” in their respective classrooms or wherever they were by the time
they heard the bell. After some time, when everything was safe and clear, they slowly
and properly went out of their classrooms and headed to the designated safe areas. The
drill lasted for about 10-15 minutes.

The said activity was conducted to promote earthquake preparedness and

resilience while public health precautionary measures were observed, like the wearing of
face masks, and by following the proper social distancing.
