Celebrating a XV aññnos party is stressful.
c) Parties are a good way to meet people.
Many people around the world have parties to celebrate someone’'s birthday. It is also very popular to have
parties when someone gets engaged or married. In some countries some people like to have a housewarming
party to celebrate when someone else moves to a new house or neighborhood. In Mexico it is very common to
have parties when a girl turns fifteen known as “XV Añnos” party. It is a catholic celebration where the parents
announce to their relatives the presentation of their child into the society and how she becomes a woman and
stops being a child. After the ceremony all the family and friends go to a party room to continue celebrating.
It is so similar to a big birthday party. The girl wears a beautiful, luxurious and expensive dress just for that
day, she has her “Padrinos” they are like her godparents who will watch her during her life and also most of
them pay everything for the party and sometimes they buy the dress the girl wears that day. They have an
enormous cake for all the guests and a symbolic doll that means the last toy she has in her life and the moment
when she stops being a child. Everyone at the party dances and enjoys the music and the food they have. So
we can say in Mexico people celebrate every change a person has in life.
