Sambian partners was a family own business it is an engineering company.

It was known for innovation


and a front runner in the industry for green building movement. Helen was the chief executive officer of
the company and believes that company is offering the great environment to its employees for working
but for some reasons the top employees of the company was existing or can say company was struggling
to retain them. Helen also ask donillo to take a survey on employee quiting the job to find the root cause
for it but when the result comes there was no such conclusion to define the root cause.

There are majorly three issues in sambian partners which makes losing its people:

1. The management Leadership skills

2. Communication Gaps or Barriers between the management and its employees

3. Rewards, recognition and motivation was not present in the firm as they thought the money is only
the thing to motivate the employees

Helen got this position from her father, but she was not suitable for the companies top management
role as she was impatience and short tempered. She was behaving like a boss and make her people
nervous while speaking to her or can say in conversation with her. Also she was not having the long term
vision as she was taking her decision for short term to give solutions for problems.

She also promoted the Adrienne among most of the employees and also she used to make decisions on
her own instead of taking advice or discussion with in the management.

Mary was also not very good in problem solving and management skills.

Sambian also have communication gaps with in the firm or can say between the seniors and juniors and
also interdepartmental as toms proposal was turned down and nobody was there to defend him or on
his side to support him. Also there was a weak bonding between the top and lower management as bob
was not aware of Adrienne was leaving until the rumors was spread.

Company also don’t have the culture to stay connected and committed with its employees, as tom was
hard working but his work was under appreciated by the management.

Actions:

Company should hire the professionals and consultants to help and give support to run the company as
Helen was not suitable for the role of CEO.

Helen should make a groups with her top managers and also with consultant to improve her weak skills
like managerial and leadership, etc. Mary and other senior managers should also participate in the
improvement program with Helen.
Helen should make the policies with management to attract and retain her good employees and also
setup a common goal or vision for everyone in the company.

Secondly, the traditional hierarchy for communication should be break so that the communication gap is
no longer a problem between the senior management and employees or between the departments. The
company should bring the environment such as anyone can say or speak openly about his/her problems.
Management should also have something like to share the feedback to its employee when the proposal
is turned down or been rejected.

The company management should think about that the money is not only the thing to motivate and
retain its employees or can make the people happy and stay connected. They should dig and know
about the need of their employees and also should give the appreciation to their employee work and
also for what he has contributed for the company. Also the systems for career growth should be shown
to their employees.

Company can do the research on its competitors in the market and can learn from them as well.
