1. Introduction
This document presents the objectives of the Quality Control and Inspection Plan for the construction
of 1000-ton Barge and Tug Boat. Table 1 shows the value that can be created for a client as a result of
a third-party inspection, which shall be provided by XXXX Limited.
XXXXX intends to engage a contractor to construct a 1000-ton Barge and Tug Boat. To this end,
XXXX Limited intend to create the values highlighted in Figure 1 for the XXXX Ltd by inspecting and
supervising the nominated contractor.

2. Objectives
The fundamental objectives of this exercise are:
a) To ensure that the fabricated vessels meet quality requirements for marine operations
b) To ensure that all non-destructive (NDT) tests are conducted on critical parts of fabricated
marine equipment
c) To ensure a cost-effective marine infrastructure
d) To ensure that all quality control activities and tests are executed
e) To ensure project (i.e., fabrication works) is delivered within schedule
f) To optimize value for the client, XXX Marine Ltd

3. References and Codes


XXXX Limited shall ensure that major recommendations of the following standards are followed by
the constructor during fabrication works:

• Lloyd’s Register Standards


• Bureau Veritas Standards
• ABS Standards
• DNV.GL Standards

4. Scope of Work
The scope of work shall include inspection activities during the following stages:

6. Reporting Communication
XXXX Limited present weekly report on the state of works to XXX Marine Ltd. Such report shall have
as a minimum, the following information:

• Amount of work done


• Forecast of work to be done
• Estimated completion time
• Project safety record

• Material test reports

7. Safety Measures
XXXX Limited shall ensure that personnel involved in this project go through HSE trainings in order
to be abreast with standard HSE practices. As a minimum, XXXX Limited shall maintain suitable
protective equipment for all workers involved in this project. PPE to be provided include:

• Hearing protection equipment such as ear defenders, ear plugs

• Eye protection such as safety eye wear, welding goggles and shields

• Foot protection such as safety shoes/boots

• Head protection such as hard hats

• Limb and body protection such as gloves, reflective vests etc.

• Respirators, as necessary and adequate


As minimum, XXXX Limited shall follow standard practice in maintaining and designing the following
for the fabrication works:

• Warning Signs and Lights

• Safety Information Signboard and Assembly Stage

• Safety Reflective Apparel (Traffic Control)

• First-Aid
