also bring with you water or any beverage of your liking so that you can take a sip once in a
while during our program.

MC1: Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! And welcome to this virtual workshop on self-
care with the theme “AKO NAMAN MUNA: Practicing Self-Care”.

prayer.

(flash opening prayer slide)

MC1: Once again good morning, everyone!

MC2: Good morning, USI!

(5 secs pause…)

QUICK KAMUSTAHAN (flash the ‘how are you’ slide)

MC1: Good morning partner, how are you feeling today?

MC2: I’m good partner, actually, I’m looking forward sa mga kaganapan ngayong araw kasi
feeling ko marami akong matutunan, ikaw ba?

MC1: Exactly, alam mo partner kung tanungan na “HOW ARE YOU” for sure karamihan
naman satin ang sagot is okay lang, nakakasurvive pa naman, diba? Pero yung totoo, tayo
ba mismo nakakamusta pa yung sarili natin? Ikaw nakakamusta mo pa ba sarili mo? How
about you guys? (magtatawag ng students)

(adlib)

MC2: What are your expectations about this workshop?

(mute mic)
MC1 : Nung nalaman mo na may ganitong event ang ASSA, ano yung pumasok sa isip mo
(name of student) para sumali ka dito?

(short adlib)

How about, (name of student) what is self-care for you? Or how important self-care is?
(short adlib)

Self-care is defined as anything that is done deliberately to focus our efforts on caring for
our health mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually. Self-care is the basis for
improving our mood and reducing anxiety. It’s not selfish, it’s about knowing how to take
care of our needs so that ultimately, we can take care of others. And it is not meant to be
something we force upon ourselves.

MC1: Thank you very much, (name of students) for sharing with us what you’re currently
feeling. And for those who want to share their thoughts as well, you may utilize the chat
box here. Thank you!

MC2: Thank you so much, Caren! Let’s have some reminders lang guys before we formally
begin our workshop.

WELCOME MESSAGE

MC1: And now, to officially open and welcome everyone to our event, may we call on
Marian G. Sarmiento the Project Head of this event for our Welcoming message.

MC2: Thank you so much Marian, and indeed we are truly grateful that initiatives like this
brings us all together and remind us to efficiently begin the practice of taking care of
ourselves.
INTRODUCTION OF SPEAKER

MC1: At this juncture, we would like to introduce to you our first resource speaker who
will dwell on talking about caring for the self. I am pleased and honored to introduce our
resource speaker for today’s event. She has been an inspiration to everyone because not
only that she is hardworking and dedicated to her job but also because of her passion.
Today, she will share with us her experience in caring for oneself.

Our resource speaker this morning is a registered psychometrician and a graduate of BS

Psychology in Ateneo de Naga University in the year 2013. In 2016, she attended the
International Summer Campus in Korea University. And at present, she is taking Master of
arts in psychology Counseling Psychology in Ateneo de Naga University. Some of you might
be wondering about the nature of her job. She is one of the college faculty in Ateneo de
Naga University. She teaches General Psychology, Understanding the Self, Psychological
Statistics, Theories of Personality, and Experimental Psychology. She is also the moderator
of Association of Psychology Students of Ateneo (APSA). She is also the sales and marketing
officer in Tinandayagan Falls and Resort. What’s more impressive is that she is engaged in
various volunteer work. She is a facilitator in Katatagan Kontra Droga sa Komunidad
(KKDK) in Naga City and a provider in Psychological First Aid (PFA) in Bicol area. To give
us a talk and share her knowledge with us, let’s welcome Ms. Chelsea Brioso. A virtual
round of applause please.

(adlib) thank you po- socializing with others, nagkakahiyaan pa lalo na kasi virtual lang
tayo

“Little by little, day by day, what is meant for you will find its way.” Great things
never came from our comfort zones

MC2: What a wonderful day indeed. We know that it’s important to show compassion for
others, but how often do we show that same level of kindness to ourselves? One of the
greatest things that you can do for your mind, soul, and body is to unwind.

MC1: Sometimes we need to step back and remember that we are worth the love and care
that we give others. Many think that practicing self-care is inconvenient or even selfish. But,
what’s selfish about wanting to be the best version of you? The only way you can give
yourself to others is if you give to yourself first. In addition, give yourself the “me time” you
deserve to truly get in touch with your mind and your body and be the best you that you
can be.

OPEN FORUM: STUDENT REACTORS’ SHARING OF INSIGHTS AND QUESTIONS

MC2: Definitely partner! At this juncture we would like to officially welcome everyone to
the open forum. First in our activity for this program section is the sharing of reactions.
May we call on a volunteer to share his/her reactions, take away, insights, and questions.

CALL VOLUNTEERS

MC1: When do you think is the time that you have to make time for yourself? (adlib)

(question paul and me after the students)

MC2: What is your kind of self-care? (adlib)

MC1: Thank you everyone for sharing and giving us your feedbacks and take away from
our workshop. We really hope that the aims and goals of this program were valued and
observed.

GIVING OF CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

MC2: And now, to show our appreciation to our resource speaker we would like to present
this certificate of appreciation to our talk giver.

MC1: Allow me to read the certificate’s citation. (ask the speaker kung may final message
pa)

MC2: Once again thank you so much to our speaker and of course to our distinguished
participants who are still with us until this moment.

MC2: May we invite everyone to please open their cameras for a short Virtual Picture
taking so that we can cherish and look back to this moment in time in the future.
MC1: May we ask the assistance of our technical team to please snap us some pictures.
Hold your smiles everyone!

MC1: Thank you so much, Ms. Chelsea and to everyone, thank you. Pero bago pa tayo
magkalimutan, meron pa po tayong afternoon session, so reminder lang po na babalik tayo
at exactly 12:30/1:00 pm, kaya ba? Kaya yan, and magready po pala kayo mamaya ng any
art materials na gagamitin natin tapos any items/means/instruments/activities na
ginagamit o ginagawa niyo for self-care or means to relieve stress. I want you to write a
letter sana for yourself, or maybe a question, or anything na you really want to tell yourself
or maybe sa isang importanteng tao sainyo, pwede niyong pangalanan, pwede naming
hindi, hingin ko mamaya, okay lang? Thank you! so let’s end now our morning session with
a closing prayer.

BOTH: Enjoy your lunch everyone! And see you later.

AFTERNOON SESSION

(Time 12:30 pm) (BG music) (flash main slide)

MC2: (ROLL CALL) Andito na ba lahat? So, kung wala pa po yung iba if may kakilala man
kayo sa kanila, kindly message them to enter our room now.

MC1: (Adlib) Since nasa virtual room lang tayo sa ngayon, we all know na some of us are
struggling talaga pagdating sa sharing no? yung mahiyain na nga tayo sa personal, pinalala
pa lalo ng pandemic, diba?

MC2: Totoo yan partner, pero kahit papano sana no hindi to maging hadlang sa bawat isa
sa atin to socialize pa rin, di ba?

MC1: Yes, and kahit itong workshop natin is about self, let’s also not forget to think of
socializing with others lalo na yung mga hindi pa natin masyadong kakilala.

ICE BREAKER

MC2: Alright, it seems like our participants, need a little break and an energizer. So we
move on to our ice breaker for this event!

MC1: Okay, prepare yourself, everyone, for our ice breaker which is entitled: SING THE
WORD

1.
2. Crazy
3. Love
4. Care
5. Way
Well done everyone and it seems like everyone here really enjoyed the game, tama ba?
Okay na, gising na? o baka may natutulog pa diyan pakisabihan na after na lang ng
workshop natin. Partner?

MC2: Again for our house rules: (read house rules reminder)

MC1: So, let’s now proceed to our workshop this afternoon and I would like to call on Paul
to introduce to us our very inspiring facilitator.

MC2: Our facilitator for this afternoon’s Expressive Art Workshop has a great
understanding and a great appreciation of art and self-care as she not only has an extensive
background in Psychology, but is also an artist. She graduated BS in Psychology at ADNU
and is currently taking up MA in Psychology major in Counseling Psychology at the same
university. She previously worked in the office of the Student Affairs at ADNU. For 6 years
and counting, she has been in the field of rehabilitating people with substance use disorder.
She is currently one of the Health Program Officers in DOH-Cam. Sur Treatment and
Rehabilitation Center. Moreover, she is the owner and the artist behind love myth love. She
creates art using different media from pencil, pen, to watercolor and acrylic painting.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please join me in welcoming Ms. Ian Poblete.

SHARING/TALKSHOW

MC1: Thank you so much Ate Ian for that plentiful workshop though nag karoon tayo ng
technical problems (mention something about the talk). The intention of today’s self-
care workshop is to give us a space to practice and commit to loving ourselves in the
smallest and biggest ways. And we can do self-care pala even in journaling or any creative
way na naaayon dun sa gusto natin. (May nagshare na joining this workshop is one of the
wise or good decision daw na ginawa nila. How they are truly grateful with the speakers
and all the lessons na nakuha nila ngayong araw)

MC1: When do you think is the time that you have to make time for yourself? (adlib)

(question paul and me after the students)

MC2: What is your kind of self-care? (adlib)

MC2: To help us create boundaries, say the no’s, scream the yesses and do all the things
that make our soul feel deeply nourished and loved.

MC1: (Share insights) We hope that as we come close to the end of our program we had
instilled in all of our hearts the knowledge that Ms. Chelsea and Ms. Ian brought.

MC2: But not so fast everyone, because this day would not be complete if none of our
participants would share their reactions, take away, insights, and questions.

MC1: (mention something about the talk) Kaya naman, gusto rin naming marinig yung
mga boses niyo, o yung mga saloobin na meron kayo. Kung naaalala niyo, kaninang umaga
may pinagawa kami sainyong mga letters na kung saan pwede niyong ilagay yung gusto
niyong sabihin o itanong, and ngayon babasahin natin yun and hopefully may maitulong
kami.

MC2: (read some letters) (BG music playing)

MC1: Remember that you are worthy of receiving love from yourself. You are worthy of being
your priority. You are worthy of receiving the love and appreciation and care you so easily
give to others. (all about your worth)

“It’s not always, but it’s always worth it.”

MC2: There is no judgment on what you invited in. Remind yourself of what was discovered in this
self-care workshop. Maybe you invited in new boundaries you need to put in place to protect
your energy.

MC1: Maybe you invited in the permission to say no. Maybe you invited in the permission to
say yes. Maybe you invited in something that seems lavish. It’s all okay. And you’re worthy
of it all. And maybe some of us are questioning ourselves “What do I need right now?”
(adlib/share insights)

“Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.”

So, what do you need right now? I hope this self-care workshop provided you with the
space to think about what those things might be. And how you can advocate for each of
them throughout your days.

Self-care prove that “me time” is okay. And that caring for yourself is caring for others.

CLOSING MESSAGE

MC1: And to give us the closing remarks may we call on Ms. Dianne S. Rubios, our lovely
and kindhearted ASSA moderator. Ma’am Dee?

MC2: Thank you so much for that expanding closing message Ma’am Dee.

MC1: It has been a pleasure for all of us to host equally active and engaging participants.
Before we go, may we invite everyone to please open their cameras for a short Virtual
Picture taking so that we can cherish and look back to this moment in time in the future.

MC2: Again may we ask the assistance of our technical team to please snap us some
pictures. Hold your smiles everyone!

MC1: Once again, thank you everyone and this has been Caren Mae Tolete.

MC2: And Paul Brian Gavino, signing off!
