LAMPUNG
In the life of the Lampung indigenous people, there are traditions that develop in
customs, one of which is traditional ceremonies relating to beliefs that also have personal,
universal and transcendental values that have been entrenched and have been handed down
from generation to generation. This tradition of the indigenous people of Lampung is
embodied in the form of traditional ceremonies, this type of ceremony is carried out in
accordance with everyday life in Indonesia every transformation of life, from one's
conception to the end of one's life.
There are several traditions in the Lampung Tumbai tradition that are currently still
being maintained, one of which is the Lampung traditional tradition in the birth process.
Although in certain places, especially in big cities in Lampung, this tradition has begun to be
forgotten and abandoned by the current generation, but in certain areas or places it is still
preserved because in every ritual tradition that is carried out when researched and studied in
depth There are noble values of local wisdom that can be learned from, such as the value of
togetherness, kinship, gratitude to the Almighty, sharing with others, maintaining good
relations, maintaining the good name of the family, obeying the rules, and maintaining
environmental sustainability or nature preservation.including the following

TEPPUK PUSOKH/SALAI TABUI/SALIN KHAH/NYILIH DAKHAH.

This ceremony is carried out after the birth of a day old baby, the method is to clean and
plant the baby's placenta.

SILIH DARAH
Silih darah comes from the word silih which means to replace and blood means blood,
so blood reparation literally means to replace blood. Silih darah means having two meanings,
namely replacing the baby's blood after a long time finally being born into the world, making

up for all the worries of his parents with gratitude for the birth of a baby in good health and
safety. Second, the meaning of replacing the mother's blood with a magical purpose so that
the dirty blood that is wasted (blood that comes out of the mother's body) during childbirth
can be replaced with new, clean blood, so that the mother is expected to recover quickly as
usual.
Silih darah is the process of slaughtering an animal immediately after the baby is born,
meaning that the sooner or the day after the baby's birth, the sooner the better. Animals
slaughtered for blood reparation are usually chickens, nor is it determined whether it has to be
a rooster or a female or the age limit of the chicken, which is clear that blood reparation
symbolically means to replace and as a form of gratitude for the birth of a baby in the midst
of the family.

BETEBUS
This ceremony is carried out when the baby is seven days old, intended to pray for the
baby and redeem the baby from the birth attendant who has cared for the baby from the
womb to help with the birth.

BECUKOKH
This ceremony is carried out when the baby is forty days old, namely shaving the
baby's hair for the first time and in this event also Aqiqahan is carried out.

NGEKUK/NGEBUYU/MAHAU MANUK
This ceremony is carried out when the baby is three months old when the baby has been
given additional food.

NGELAMA
After a child in a family is born there is a tradition of ngelama. During the
implementation of the process, the baby's family, including the father, mother, and extended
family, came to visit the besan (sabai) family's house with their belongings, such as buffalo,
cows, goats, and chickens or fish. Then other food items such as fruit, side dishes, and
traditional Lampung cakes that are brought during the night, namely diamonds.
