SYNOPSIS
Research Title -
The role of teachers to prevent bullying and unhealthy psychological atmosphere
among school students

Introduction
Bullying is a schoolyard problem but its mental health problems go far beyond schoolyard. It
also effects on students academic carrier .Many students quit studies because of bullying in
school. Bullying is a repeated aggressive behavior where one person or group of people in a
position of power deliberately intimidates, abuses an individual with the intention to hurt that
person physically, verbally, and mentally. Bullying happens when one child has a physical or social
advantage over another, and they use that advantage to act aggressively toward the other.

Bullying can create unhealthy psychological atmosphere around the school. When some students
makes victimize to others then school environment becomes violent and unsafe place for students.
Bullying can be influence over students mental health problems as well as low academic
performance.

Background of the study


There are many negative effects of bullying which makes influence over student’s life. Mostly
student suffer from physical and mental problems which later force them to quit study. This
research study would investigate how teacher can prevent bullying from being victimization.
How teacher can reduce bullying in the schools and make school environment sociable for all
students. It study would building social awareness towards teachers, parents, and students about
bullying and its negative influence over school students.

2. How does bullying impact on student’s mental health?
3. How does bullying impact on student’s academic performance?
Objective of the study
1. To study about the impact of bullying on students mental health
2. To create awareness among teachers about bullying and unhealthy psychological atmosphere in
school.
3. To study teachers strategy of preventing bullying and unhealthy psychological situation among school
students
Importance of the study

Methodology
Nature of the study- Qualitative
Research Design – Descriptive survey method will be use for the proposed study.
Population –The proposed study will include secondary school teachers of west Bengal as population.
Sample – Around 20 teachers will be selected from secondary school under west Bengal board for the
proposed study
Sampling Technique – Simple random sampling method will be used for selecting secondary school
And Convenient Sampling method will be used for selecting teachers.
Tools- self made structural questionnaire will be used as tool for data collection. The questionnaire
would be both close ended and open ended
Limitation- The study will be limited to west Bengal state only
Delimitation – The study will be delimited to North 24 Parganas district, State of west bengal
Data analysis and Interpretation – Data analysis and interpretation will be done on basics of data
sources
