SUBJECT: DURABILITY IMPROVEMENT FOR FUSING SLEEVE

SYMPTOM:
Faint images and/or jams occur.

Damaged fusing sleeve:

CAUSE:
The fusing pad does not apply enough oil to the inside of the fusing belt. As a result, the torque between the
pad and belt increases, causing the belt to slip and damaging the fusing sleeve.

Note: This oil is applied to keep the belt rotating smoothly.

SOLUTION:
The net for the fusing pad was changed so that it retains more oil and can apply the right amount of oil to the
pad. This will increase the durability of the fusing sleeve.

New target yield 240k (pages).

 NOTE: The target yield as "page" of the fusing belt unit is newly set to 240k because the former value of
300k was set by a calculation converted from "rotation distance". The new value of 240k can align
with the actual performance. We have revised down the yield and the price.
