SUBJECT: NOTES FOR INSTALLING THE COLOR CONTROLLER E-3300

GENERAL:
This Technical Service Bulletin contains important notes concerning the installation of the Color Controller E-
3300 on the D111/D142.

Approved Firmware for the D111/D142 for connection with the E-3300 Controller
Make sure that the firmware modules for the D111/D142 are upgraded as follows at the E-3300 installation.

• Engine: 1.02:04 (D1425116D) or newer

• System/Copy: 2.01 or newer
• Network Support: 11.86 or newer

SP mode setting for E-3300 Controller

As written in the service manual, the following SP value must be changed at the E-3300 installation.
• SP 5193-001 (External Controller Info. Settings)
Value: 1 (Default: 0 = GW)
*The valid external controller will be specified as “Fiery controller”.

• SP 5895-001 (Application Invalidation)

Value: 1 (Default: 0 = GW)
*This setting disables the pre-installed GW printer feature. GW printer must be disabled when using
E-3300.

• SP 5985-001 (Device Setting)

Value: 1 (Default: 1 = GW)
*This setting enables the GW NIC (ie for GW scanning).
Note: If all machine data is cleared by “Erase All Memory” security function, these SP values are
also cleared to Default: 0.

System Software DVD is included in the box

A System Software DVD is included in the product carton box (DVD labeled “For Service Only”). This DVD
should be used when the controller has any problem (system software problem, HDD replacement, etc.).

The USB Prep Tool (a utility that enables installation of the system software from a USB drive) will be
provided via the firmware download site.
