This research focus on the impact of Natural Resources in Belize.

As we all know that Belize's forest is one of the country's natural resources. Belize features
enormous indigenous forest, which are primarily located in the northern region of the nation. A
diverse range of creatures, including birds, reptiles, mammals, and insects, use the forest lands as
a natural home. Belize has a large forestry sector that is entirely reliant on natural resources due
to its extensive forest resources. Belize's natural resources have been an important revenue for
the government since the beginning of the forestry business in country. The Natural resources are
valuable because they help to support the economy of the country in which they exist. However,
the Belize forest resources are under severe threat, owing to a combination of fast coastal
expansion and weak institutional.
Therefore, what is the best method to manage Belize's natural resources in light of these
realities? Because these forest resources suffer a variety of hazards. As a result, rapid coastal
development for residential and commercial purposes is becoming a greater threat to Belize.
Foreigners have purchased 75-80 percent of all coastal land in Belize, according to a recent
study, Belize Journal stated “the purpose of converting it into condominiums, resorts, or
residential houses, often at the expense of mangroves and littoral forests has affected the
country.” Despite the fact that the situation is rapidly changing; two years later, in 1992, the
nationwide mangrove deforestation rate averaged 0.7 percent due to increased urban expansion
and tourism development.
Moreover, Belize currently has insufficient institutional and legal structures that prevent
environmental restrictions from being enforced. Regulation enforcement is hampered by a lack
of financial resources. Similarly, the institutions in charge of protecting Belize's natural resources
lack the personnel, ability, and financial resources to manage them sustainably. Many policies
and legislation are out of date and need to be updated especially in these times.
To make this development, the natural resource management in Belize, strong rules and policies
need be implemented, because the natural resources is highly important both for us and future
generations, it is also important to educate local residents on the value and necessity of
conservation. so that the coming generation can also benefit from natural resources, and that we
leave a better world for them.
