To simply understand it, imagine yourself in front of your laptop, your laptop
maybe made in China, Korea, Japan or the US. Think of how your laptop was
able to be sold in the Philippine market. Then, you are accessing your emails,
searching Google, sharing videos in your FB, uploading pictures in IG and you
can follow and unfollow treads in twitter. By using your social media accounts,
you are interacting to people you may or may not know personally from the
different parts of the world. In other words, by just using your laptop and using
different media sites, you are making the world shrink, you are shortening
distances and you are building closeness of things and people from one side of
the world to the other side, and that simply is, globalization.
E. Discussing new The teacher will discuss further the lesson using the Powerpoint Presentation
concepts and practicing stipulated in the video lesson and ask students the following questions:

F. Developing mastery ACTIVITY 2: (SMALL GROUP DYNAMICS)
(Leads to Formative The class will be divided randomly into 5 groups by counting 1 to 5 and those

assign a Secretary who will write their answers on a Manila paper and a
Reporter to share their answers to the class. The group scoring will be based
on the given rubric.

(a) FIRST GROUP: Formulate the appropriate null hypothesis

(c) THIRD GROUP: Identify situations where Type I errors are committed
(d) FOURTH GROUP: Identify situations where Type II errors are
committed; and
(e) FIFTH GROUP: State its possible consequences.

They will be reminded to silently move their chairs according to the suggested
set up and do the tasks assigned to them. Again, their agreed classroom rules
were reiterated so that students will finish the tasks on the specified time.
Furthermore, the teacher will also check on them from time to time so that
everybody is actively participating and be given if they need assistance.

battery for a tablet and claimed that it has an average life of at least 24 hours.
Would you buy this battery?

2. A teenager who wanted to lose weight is contemplating on following a diet


she read about in the Facebook. She wants to adopt it but, unfortunately,
following the diet requires buying nutritious, low calorie yet expensive food.
Help her decide.

3. Alden is exclusively dating Maine. He remembers that on their first date,


Maine told him that her birthday was this month. However, he forgot the exact
date. Ashamed to admit that he did not remember, he decides to use
hypothesis testing to make an educated guess that today is Maine’s birthday.
Help Alden do it.

4. After senior high school, Lilifut is pondering whether or not to pursue a


degree in Statistics. She was told that if she graduates with a degree in
Statistics, a life of fulfilment and happiness awaits her. Assist her in making a
decision.

5) An airline company regularly does quality control checks on airplanes. Tire


inspection is included since tires are sensitive to the heat produced when the
airplane passes through the airport’s runway. The company, since its operation,
uses a particular type of tire which is guaranteed to perform even at a
maximum surface temperature of 107oC. However, the tires cannot be used
and need to be replaced when surface temperature exceeds a mean of 107oC.
Help the company decide whether or not to do a complete tire replacement.
G. Finding Practical After the group activity, the teacher will allow students to explain their answer
applications of concepts to the class; processes involved in coming up with a solution to a problem and
