Study Activity 1.

1. It is evident that here in the Philippines we have 134 different ethnic groups. Give one Standards that your
ethnic group which is different from others?

My ethnic group ‘s one distinguishing characteristic is our language , which is influenced by both our cultural
and linguistic practices , and hence can become an important component of our identity . As a result ,
language is a means of expressing our heritage and identity . Language is an essential component of our
daily life . We connect with others through language , which can take the form of speech , writing , or
gestures . It is frequently extremely structured and complicated , according to strict grammar standards and
social norms.

2. Let’s test your ability to identify, observe and understand or interpret! Give one Moral Experience in your life
and try to explain it by asking, is it beneficial to you or NOT?

One of my examples of Moral Issues that I personally experience is Bullying. When I was in elementary
grade school, I personally experience bullying in my classmates, I don’t know why they do that to me even
though I’m not doing anything bad to them, I was a shy and quiet person so the moral decision that I made
is I just ignore them because there will be more trouble if I just arguing with them. Of course, I always think
maybe there is a wrong or problem with their selves or with their families that is why they’re bullying other
people to seek attention. One another reason why they do that is maybe they have no friends, or they are
just jealous that maybe I have the things that they don’t have.

3. Which one should be the most important for you Moral Standards or Non-Moral Standards? Why?

For me the most important is the Moral Standards because it provide the framework for effective community
with respect societies’ most important values. In addition, moral standards normally promote “the good”, that
is, the welfare and well-being of humans as well as animals and the environment. Moral standards,
therefore, prescribe what humans ought to do in terms of rights and obligations. Moral standards give a
foundation for functional community that respects the most essential values of a society. Moral
consequences may or may not exist for non-moral norms. Automobile driving laws are one example. They
make it possible to move people and commodities in a safe and efficient manner. Violations of the speed
limit may or may not cause injury, but when they do, our moral values, as well as the law, come into play.
Moral standards are honest and just; and 5) moral requirements are related with distinct feelings (such as
guilt and shame) and vocabulary (such as right, wrong, good, and bad).
