SCOPE: This document describes the compliance requirements of Dress Code for all employees at PakArab Site. 2. BACK GROUND: Occupational Injuries have occurred due to use of improper clothing in Operating Areas, Mostly, hot bums & entanglement of loose clothing in the moving machines / equipment have been encountered. It is therefore mandatory to attire properly to safeguard employees against these injuries 3. PFL GUIDELINES: Following mandatory guidelines are therefore, to be followed by all employees at PFL site. 3.1. GENERAL DRESSING REQUIREMENT: For ease of administrative management, there is only one non-operating area (ADMIN Building) defined at the plant site (This applies to dress code only and does not cover permit to work). General dressing requirements for non-operating areas includes as a minimum i. Pant and shirt (With shirt tucked in) ii, Closed shoes 3.2, DRESS CODE NORMS FOR OPERATING AREAS 1. Trouser / pants with full sleeve shirt (portable arm sleeves to be used for half sleeved shirts). 2. Half sleeves are mandatory in machine shop area only. Buttoned up jackets / closed zip jackets 4. Safety Shoes for PFL prescribed type only. (Closed shoes for palledars at Product Handling Areas) 5. Loose clothing is not allowed in operating areas. Loose clothing includes: a. Shalwar Kameez. b. A shirt not tucked into trouser. c._Loose clothes around neck or shoulders. Unbuttoned / Loose sleeves of a shirt & unbuttoned jacket. 3.2.1, DRESS CODE NORMS FOR FEMALE EMPLOYEES: Inside operating area, female employees can follow any type of dress code except: a. Ladies Dupatta. (However, properly clipped scarf can be worn), b. Ladies Long Kameez (Short shirt without slits allowed or wear a buttoned up lab coat over the dress.) Any other dress with hanging / loose parts that can entangle with machines, Hanging jewelry (e.g. necklace, locket, bracelet etc.) not allowed. Hair open / slack (hair must be properly tied). The length of lab coat / shirt/ abaya below knees. Any type of shoes other than PFL prescribed safety shoes. e@meae 3.2.2, DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVERS: Drivers from PFL transport, product loading & handling trucks and chemical tankers can wear Shalwar Kameez and closed shoes only. They need to stay in their resting area or inside / close to their vehicles) & Closed shoes only. Drivers assigned to operational duties / industrial equipment such as shovel loader / crane drivers etc, must use the same dress as being followed for all operating areas at all times. 3.3. EXCEPTION: In case a health issue restricts any one to comply with any part of this policy, a written approval must be sought from PFL Medical officer defining the reason, restriction and duration, In case of educational visits, official visits, special occasions etc. a permission is required from HSEQT Manager.
