1. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought


that communication is all about how we interact with each other.

However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
COMMUNICATION as the process of sharing meaning in any context. In addition,
Wood (2003), in her book “Communication in our Lives”, defined communication as
systematic process in which people interact with and through symbols to create and
interpret meanings.

1. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought that there is only
sender and receiver in communication.

However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
there is nine elements of communication the sender, message, encoding, channel,
receiver, decoding, feedback, noise and context.

1. Before reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I thought that ethics is our
manners.

However, reading the material/ understanding the lesson, I now think/ realize that
ETHICS are values that have been instilled in us. We have knowingly or unknowingly

accepted them and govern our actions. Our ethical values system is our basis for our
decision-making and our basis for communication ethics.
