2. Integrate values, facts weighing advantages and disadvantages in decision making with the
best possible outcome.
3. The “good” is pursued for itself, not because of any attachment value.

Topic 4. Understanding Human Freedom


1. Understanding the human person as a fundamentally a moral agent (destined to be free, to
make moral decisions), subjectivity and accountability.
2. Explain man as embodied subject.
3. Differentiate between: Satrean Absolute Freedom, Determinism, and Situated Freedom

Topic 5. Scheler’s Hierarchy of Value


1. Understand the progression into deeper levels of values:
Sensory-Spiritual/ Holy-Unholy (Scheler’s)
2. Understand Love as progression from solitude to a disinterested giving.
3. Differentiate between mere contingencies and genuine loving encounter
