PERSONAL INTRODUCTION

I am Jocelly R. Tupas a 2nd year Industrial Engineering student at Notre Dame of

Dadiangas University. I interviewed three families and asked them the questions I had

prepared. This integration has been given to me in order for me to have a perspective

on certain people's lives during the pandemic. What impact it has on their lives, their

relationships with God, and their relationships with their families.

I never thought there would be anything that would stop the industry for a while.

For some, the pandemic took away everything from them. Someone had to bear the

losses and someone had to also shut their businesses. My life has changed for the

better in certain aspects. I've never enjoyed crowds, so social separation suits me

perfectly. This epidemic provided me with my life's purpose. Even if this pandemic was

terrible, I still wish it hadn't happened in the first place. But that's life; the only constant

is change.

I have a lot of lesson I earned during this time. The times like these make us

realize how privileged and lucky we are to afford to live in a comfortable house, wear

decent clothes, eat healthy food, afford medical expenses, and able to survive without

even working for few days due to our savings or luxury of “work from home”. I always

keep my and my family's health first than any other things but this pandemic and

watching my loved ones die because of coronavirus taught me that nothing in this world

is more precious than health. This pandemic has taught me the value of life. To value

the small moments, value the time spend with the loved ones, living to the fullest without
shying away or hiding in our rooms. Do whatever makes you happy because you don't

know what pandemic tomorrow can bring. I do think that there’s a great deal of comfort

in connecting with God at a time of stress, and more importantly, that doing so can give

us strength to do the right thing by others and ourselves.

The best one above all is “Be happy for what you have” be grateful and live your

life full of love and compassion.

PERSONAL REFLECTION
My life had been affected in both - positive and negative manner during this

pandemic.

At first, I didn't pay much attention to the coronavirus because I assumed it was

just another epidemic that would pass. I wasn't too concerned until the middle of May

2020, when several individuals tested positive. Then it dawned on me that this is no

longer a game. I was now feeling overwhelmed by all of the changes that were taking

place. Schools and markets were eventually shuttered, and we were informed by the

news station that schools would be closed until a later date. It's simply that everything

began to shift, and the fear increased. I kept picturing the worst-case scenario. Nothing

was open, the stores were closed, and we were officially quarantined. It was like a

nightmare from which I couldn't awaken. The exaggeration and bogus news that

individuals continued spreading on social media aggravated the issue. Because

everyone was confined, the Pandemic resulted in job losses and an upsurge in

robberies and rapes.

This pandemic drove us closer to God. Based on every answer, God is their

hope and He is in control of everything. I'm sure there are people suffering as a result of

the epidemic, but I'm grateful since, overall, I had a good time with my family. It was

good to see everyone gathered around the table again, this time with only one other

person to chat to. I am grateful that my family and I are safe and well for all of the brave

first responders who have given so much to assist us get through this tough time. This

pandemic also helps me to discover myself so much better. It has created space for me

to figure a lot of stuff out and trust the process of my life.
