SSC CHSL Exam Eligibility


There are some of the eligibility criteria, set by the authorities for the candidates who wish to apply for SSC CHSL.
The eligibility criteria as set by the authorities are as follows:
Educational Qualification: The minimum education qualification needed to take the exam are as follows:
A. For Sorting Assistant, Lower Divisional Clerk, and Data Entry Operator – Passed 12th standard.
B. For Data Entry Operator in the C&AG – Passed 12th standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

Age Limit
The age limit of the candidates should be between 18-27 years of age.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from any recognized university or its equivalent.

Exam Pattern
It is very important to be aware of exam pattern SSC CHSL. The exam pattern for Tier 1 is as follows:
Tier-I will be a Computer-Based Examination.
Type of paper – The question will be asked in objective type.
Subjects – General Awareness, English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude.
Number of questions – There will be a total of 100 questions in the exam.
Maximum marks – The maximum for the exam will be 200 marks.
Exam Duration – The exam duration will be of 01 hours.
Negative marking – 0.50 marks deducted for each wrong answer answered by the candidate.

SSC CHSL exam pattern for Tier 2 – In the exam, candidates have to write an essay of 200-250 words. Apart
from this, candidates also have to write a letter or an application of 150-200 words. The exam is total of 100
marks and candidates get 1 hour for it. The time duration for PwD candidates is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Candidates can write the exam either in Hindi or English language.
SSC CHSL exam pattern for Tier 3 – The minimum work per limit for those who have applied for Data Entry
Operator need to type 8000 keys depressions per hour. Data Entry Operator in C&AG need to type 15000 key
depressions per hour. This is a screening test and is also held online. Again, candidates can give this in Hindi or
English. The duration of the exam is 15 mins. PwD candidates get 20 mins.
For Lower Division Clerk / Sorting Assistant the minimum word per limit is – 35 w.p.m for English
language and 30 w.p.m for Hindi language.

SSC CHSL 2022 Selection Process


The selection process for SSC CHSL is divided into 3 parts, which are:
Tier- 1: is a computer based test.
Tier- 2: is a descriptive exam, which is held in pen and paper mode.
Tier- 3: is a skill-based typing test.
SSC CHSL Syllabus
Before appearing for the exam, students must be fully aware of the SSC CHSL syllabus. Given below is the
Tier I, syllabus for SSC CHSL:
Syllabus for SSC CHSL is as follows
English Language: Active and Passive Voice, Error Detection, Antonyms/Synonyms, Direct and Indirect speech,
Shuffling.
General Intelligence: This section will have non-verbal and verbal series related questions. Questions regarding
critical thinking, semantic and figural analogy, embedded figures, coding and decoding, drawing inferences, etc.
General Awareness: Questions related to current affairs and the social, cultural, historical, political, geographical,
and economic background of India and neighboring countries are asked.
Quantitative Aptitude: Statistical Charts, Trigonometry, Algebra, Fundamental arithmetical operations,
Mensuration, Number Systems, Geometry.
