medicine-chemistry quiz bee
1. The MediChem: Medicine-Chemistry Quiz Bee is a competition with fourteen (14)
participating teams, comprising of two representatives (G11 and G12).
2. Each participant shall bring their own pen and one (1) non-programmable
calculator. Answer sheets shall be provided by the Organizing Committee.
3. There will be 30 questions focusing on the following branches of Medicine and
Chemistry: Anatomy, Physiology, Health Sciences, Biochemistry, Organic and
Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Periodic Table of Elements
4. The MediChem Quiz Bee involves three rounds with three types of questions
Multiple Choice, Identification and Problem Solving with the following
corresponding pointing system: Easy Round (2 points), Average Round (3
points), Difficult Round (5 points)
5. Contestants shall be given a maximum of 10 seconds for the Multiple-Choice
questions, 20 seconds for the Identification type and varying time allotment for
Problem Solving type questions.
GUIDELINES

6. Each question will be read twice by the quizmaster. Contestants can only write
their answers after the quizmaster has said “Go.” Computations and necessary
team strategies are permitted after the first reading of question is done.
7. All answers involving free-floating decimals shall be rounded off to two decimal
places. Final answers must be encircled and written in capital.
8. In case of protests, the judges from the Organizing Committee shall decide on
the matter. All decisions are final and irrevocable.
9. The subcamp with the highest accumulated score shall be declared as the
winner. In case of a tie, a clincher round shall be held. Three questions shall be
given in the clincher round.
10.In case of a tie after the clincher round, a Sudden Death question shall be given.
The first team to get the answer correctly shall be declared as the victor.
