Compression Torque Standard Instructions

March 2001

Checking Calibration and Calibrating

The Torque Standard may be stored in a preheat oven at a temperature

not exceeding 120 C (248 F). Preheating the torque standard reduces the
calibration warm up time.

WARNING
Always wear protective gloves for this procedure. The Rheometer's
dies, rotor and platen are hot.

Always store the Compression Torque Standard in a safe area to

cool unless you store it in a preheated oven.

If you expect to perform the torque standard calibration routine rather than
checking the calibration, select the Calibrate mode (Mode 2) before
proceeding.

1 Press the CALIBRATE key. If the displayed torque standard value

disagrees with the value for your torque standard, press the INCREMENT
or DECREMENT keys to enter the value for your torque standard from the
calibration certificate.

2 Press the SCROLL UP or SCROLL DOWN key until "Check Torque Cal?"
is displayed. Press SELECT. The message "Wait... Setting up" appears
followed by "Mount Torque Std".

3 Compress and hold in the compressed condition the spring loaded collar
of the torque standard.
