MDR2000 Compression Torque Standard Instructions: Checking Calibration and Calibrating
WARNING
Always wear protective gloves for this procedure. The Rheometer's
dies, rotor and platen are hot.
If you expect to perform the torque standard calibration routine rather than
checking the calibration, select the Calibrate mode (Mode 2) before
proceeding.
2 Press the SCROLL UP or SCROLL DOWN key until "Check Torque Cal?"
is displayed. Press SELECT. The message "Wait... Setting up" appears
followed by "Mount Torque Std".
3 Compress and hold in the compressed condition the spring loaded collar
of the torque standard.
4 Insert Compression Torque Standard and visually align and position the
Torque Standard concentric with the dies. The movable collar should be
toward the upper die.
5 Press the PLATEN key to close the shield and clamp the torque standard.
After the torque standard is clamped by the upper die, press SELECT.
The motor will start and the torque displayed.
If you wish to view the torque standard warm up time use the SCROLL
keys to display the elapsed "Warm up time". You may also view the die
temperatures using the SCROLL keys.
6 After the warm up time, view the displayed torque value. The displayed
value should match the certified value within ±1.0 dNm (±1.0 lbf in).
7 If the displayed value does not correspond with the quoted torque
standard value press the SCROLL keys until "Calibrate Torque?" is
displayed. Press SELECT. The message "Calibrating..." will be displayed.
9 Press SCROLL keys until "Leave Torque Cal?" is displayed and press
SELECT. The display will read "Remove Torque Standard".
10 Press the PLATEN key to open the shield and unclamp the Torque
Standard. The display will read "Remove Torque Std".
12 Press SELECT.
3 Press the SCROLL UP or SCROLL DOWN key until the "T Std
Type:xxxxx" is displayed.
4 Press the INCREMENT or DECREMENT key until the display reads "T
Std Type:EZ Mount". Press ENTER.
