Description of Participants (demographic, interest, profile)
Participants that will participate on the said field trip are Grade 10 students of Santo
Thomas Catholic School. They are mandated to join to this field for this is required activities to
their Aralin Panlipunan and History subject where they need to do activities such as visiting
important sites that are well-preserved and with historical values, Museum hopping, and have
the privileged to try Pottery and Weaving at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. These Grade 10 students are
examined physically although required to join the said field trip, students who are not allowed to
travel will be given special projects instead since they cannot join. While the students that will
join are required to do portfolio after the field trip. As a reflection on what they learned and
experienced during those activities they made in Vigan.
Students of Santo Thomas Catholic School are religious and they are into history. Specially
grade 10 students that are already going deep to learn about history of the Philippines. This field
trip going to Vigan City, Ilocos Sur will enhance their knowledge to history and to personally see
famous tourist spots that are located in Vigan City. By visiting Calle Crisologo they’ll immerse
themselves to rich history and culture of Vigan. There are a lot of activities there that surely
catch their attention and interest.

Itinerary
WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2022 1am sharp - pick up from Santo Thomas Catholic School at
Poblacion, Mangaldan, Pangasinan by bus going directly to Calle Crisologo Vigan City, Ilocos
Sur.

1:00 am – 6:00 am Travel time from Santo Thomas Catholic School to Calle Crisologo Vigan
City
6:00 am – 6:20 am Pre-Event Team Check In: Pit Area Set Up and Inspection
6:20 am – 8:00 am Revisiting History at Calle Crisologo
8:00 am – 9am Attend mass at Vigan Cathedral
9:00 am – 11:30 am Try Pottery and Weaving at Pagburnayan
11:30 am – 1:00 pm Visit animals at the Baluarte Zoo
1:00 pm – 2:30 Lunch time at Calle Crisologo and preparations
2:30 pm – 4:30 Museum hopping at Crisologo Museum and Father Burgos Museum
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm Team Snacks. Trying Ilocos Empanada in Plaza Burgos
5:30 pm – 6:00 pm Watch the Fountain Show at Plaza Salcedo

Field Trip Proposal and Application for


Permission to Travel Beyond 30 Miles
(Domestic and International)

All field trips and student travel undertaken under the auspices of the Santo Thomas
Catholic School must be planned and executed in compliance with the guidelines stated
in Board Rules, Title VI, Chapter 23, and Directive 310.6.
1. Every trip must have a Sponsor, a teacher or other staff person responsible for
organizing the trip and completing required paperwork.
2. The Sponsor should carefully review Directive 310.6.
3. Submit this application for preliminary approval of all student travel beyond 30 miles.
• For domestic travel (within the island of the Philippines):
Submit to the Divisional Assistant Superintendent at least 10 days prior to travel.
• For senior class travel:
Submit to the Divisional Assistant Superintendent by December 1 of the academic year
in which travel will take place.
• For international travel (requires approval by the Superintendent):
Submit to the Divisional Assistant Superintendent at least 6 months prior to planned
departure.
4. Notice of approval or disapproval from the central office will be transmitted to the
principal.
5. Unless the trip is disapproved, the Sponsor should proceed with planning, developing
a more detailed plan, transmitting complete information to students and parents, and
completing all requirements outlined in Directive 310.6

Catholic School are mandated to join except to those are not allowed to travel.
