V. Background of the Project/ Rationale:

Classroom had played an essential role in teaching. It is a place where most of


the learning take place, thus, classroom had a great impact to learners.
However due to the continuous treat of COVID-19, the method of the delivery
on instructions have been changed to match the current situation. Physical
classes have shifted to remote learning. Classes were done online, and modules
were delivered at learner’s respective houses. Because of this, the use of
traditional classroom learning is not possible. Hence, the location where
learning takes place has been flipped from school to home. In consequence, it is
very important that learners have a designate space in their home dedicated for
learning where they can learn comfortably and away from any distractions.
However, a conducive learning spaces can only be materialized with the help of
the parents. They are tasked in fulfilling the vital role of supporting at-home
learning for their children. For this reason, Project SAFEST aims to collaborate
with parents and students in creating a home learning spaces that are
conducive to learning. This further aims to guide learners in setting up their
learning space in such a way that it strengthens the bond between them and
their environment, awakens their passion in learning and promotes creativity.

This Project will help build and strengthen family relationship since parents
and students are primarily involve in the planning and work hand in hand in
the restructuring of their own home learning spaces. This will also provide
opportunity for learners to choose a location based on their learning
preferences. It gives learners sense of ownership and promotes learners’
creativity since they are expected to create, decorate, and personalize their
learning space by adding decorations, artwork, or anything else that might help
them to stay motivated and be inspired. Through these classrooms, students
awake their interest to learn, to explore, and to be creative. This will help them
develop many new skills. Furthermore, a conducive learning spaces will
improve learners’ academic performances.
More so, this provides the school an avenue for strengthening its linkages with
its stakeholders.

VI. Methodology:
 Conduct meeting with the barangay Teachers coordinator to talk about the
purpose and the process of the meeting to be conducted with the parents.
 Prepare communication letter to inform the barangay chairman about the
conduct and the purpose of the meeting.
 Inform the learners and the parents about the meeting, the time, and the venue
via messenger group chat.
 Conduct meeting with the parents to inform them about the project and its
purpose.
 Preparation of Home Learning Spaces.
 Inform the barangay officials and the parents for the conduct of learners pre-
learning spaces evaluation.
 Conduct of pre-learning spaces evaluation to PGNHSians students.
 Conduct of Final Evaluation for Home Learning Space.
