In no more than five (5) sentences, answer the following questions. (3 items x 10
points)
1. Recall some of your defining moments in the formation of your moral character. Did it
change your personality as well as your outlook on life? How?
One defining moment of my life wherein the formation of my morals
occurred was when I was in 6th grade. My personality changed drastically, my
relatives oftentimes tell me that I’ve gone quiet and that I used to be more open
with my thought processes, but only because I think more different than I used to.
As for my outlook in life, it became more negative but not to a degree
where it’s deemable as pessimistic, but just possible. Although such a shift of
one’s outlook in life did not alter my optimism to obtain a better life. Its all an act
of balance at this point.
2. What do you think will happen to our country if our youth will be lacking the necessary
moral ascendancy? Can we still rely on them as the hope of our motherland? Explain
your answer.
What I think will happen to our country if the youth nowadays lack the
moral ascendancy is that there would be a total collapse of the society. What the
previous generation worked hard for; fought for, just to see their progress go
down the drain is indeed disheartening.
As for the question that, if we can still rely on them, the answer is yes, we
can. Although the damage has been done and possibly irreversible, there is simply
nothing we can do as the previous generation to fix it. Life goes on and change is
constant, all we can pretty much do is hope that the youth learn from their mistake
and try to better themselves the next time around.
3. Explain the relationship between individual acts and character.
The relationship between Individual Acts and Character is a factor that
unifies both elements. However, one’s Character cannot justify one’s Individual
Acts and vice versa. This is simply the saying “Do not judge a book by its cover.”
