GRADE 1 to 12 Teacher GERALD T. EVAROLO Learning Area SCIENCE

DAILY LESSON PLAN Teaching Dates and Time May 11, 2021 Quarter 3
Objectives  After the end of the lesson, the students are expected to be able to solve the mass of
solute, volume of solution or concentration of the solution given two variables.
 Identify the different saturation levels of a mixture
 Know the volume or mass concentration of some mixture
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of the properties of substances
that distinguishes them from mixtures
B. Performance The learner should be able to investigate the properties of mixtures of varying concentrations
Standard using available materials in the community for specific purposes
C. Learning Distinguish mixtures from substances based on set of properties
Competency

lesson

D. Activity Let students answer and solve some problems presented in the module’s page 7.

Discuss the quantitative methods of expressing the concentration of solutions.

E. Analysis Moreover, discuss about how we can express the concentration of solutions
quantitatively by percent by volume; through percent by mass.
Emphasize the importance of getting to know how to compute and check the components of a
F. Abstraction mixture, how they can be expressed by their volume or by their mass.

Give the students a group activity, Make the compute and show their computation process in
getting the mass concentration of a solution that contains 5.30g of salt dissolved in 19.7g of
G. Application
water. Another one is to solve if how many grams of glucose are needed to prepare a 400mL of
a 5% glucose solution.
Allow the students to individually solve the following problems:
1. What is the percentage by mass if 8.0g copper is added to enough zinc to
IV.
produce 100g alloy?
Assessment/Evaluation
2. You have 200g or a solution that contains 30g of hydrochloric acid (HCI), what
percentage of your solution is made up of HCI acid?
Assignment/Agreement Read the following module and answer the “What I know” pages.
