Mihir Mankad

A global communication expert and an award-winning Professor


of Leadership Communication. He has a uniquely diverse
background as a former national TV anchor, Clinton Foundation
Deputy Country Director (India) and McKinsey Consultant to bring
in an experiential, practical and engaging approach to the study
and practice of verbal communication.

Professor Mankad divides his time between Boston and India,


where he teaches popular courses on public speaking, leadership
communication, and facing the camera to graduate students
at Harvard, Tufts, and ISB. He also teaches a diverse group of
executives and leaders in the public and private sectors.

To date, Professor Mankad has instructed over 100 executive


and senior official groups, including Indian and Greek diplomats
and defence ministry officials, central bank heads from over 20
nations, and top executives and CXOs of large corporates across
industries.

He graduated with a BA from Stanford University, an MBA from


the Kellogg School of Management, and an MPA from the
Harvard Kennedy School as a Presidential Scholar.

will introduce you to the fundamental principles of crafting and delivering an impactful
speech that appeal to your organisation’s stakeholders.

IMPROMPTU SPEAKING - ELEVATOR


PITCHES AND INTERVIEWS
Discover the key principles for impromptu speaking. This module will help you gain a
first-hand experience of impromptu speaking scenarios like crafting an elevator pitch,
appearing for interviews and learning to tackle these challenges.

WORDS THAT MATTER: FRAMING AND WORLD-VIEWS


Reframing is a useful tool when discussing politically topical issues. Individuals often
already have a frame of reference about an issue that is difficult to dislodge. It is critical
to describe an alternate frame to access the issue and convince them of an argument.

ARGUING YOUR VALUES


Access your authentic self by delving into your personal experiences. Learn to

“LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!” AND “SHINE ON ZOOM”


Leaders today are increasingly accessible through various forms of media. This module
will feature key insights from the instructor’s own experience as a news anchor to learn
and adapt essential skills to manage press events and shine on video conferencing
platforms like Zoom.

how to anticipate questions

CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS AND PROGRAMME WRAP


The concluding module of the programme sums up the learnings from all the previous
modules and challenges the class to come up with an effective response to a crisis
through an in-class group exercise.
