Introduction
The readymade garment (RMG) sector, which is currently Bangladesh's top source of export revenue,
has been instrumental in helping the nation and its economy recover. The sector is responsible for
83% of the nation's total export revenue. An important driver of Bangladesh's development is the
ready-to-wear sector. Bangladesh has benefited from the "Made in Bangladesh" label, which has
elevated its reputation internationally. The industry employs about 2 million workers with 80%
participation of women labor force. Bangladesh considerably outperforms Southeast Asian RMG
suppliers in terms of capacity offered, boasting 5,000 RMG plants that currently employ roughly 3.6
million workers out of a total workforce of 74 million. The Bangladeshi ready-to-wear industry was
founded by the late Nurool Quader Khan. He saw how the nation could be changed. He dispatched 130
trainees to South Korea in 1978 so they could learn how to make ready-to-wear clothing. With those
trainees, he set up the first factory "Desh Garments" to produce garments for export.Following their
footsteps, other prudent and hardworking entrepreneurs started RMG factories in the country.

Conclusion
The Ready-made Garment or RMG industry, which started its journey four decades
ago, is now the powerhouse of Bangladesh’s economy.Besides its contribution to
generating foreign revenue, this sector also employs millions of people in the
country. But it is apparent that personnel in this profession routinely cause
disruption. Poor labour management includes a low pay rate, late payment of
wages, insufficient overtime allowance, a low house rent allowance, gender
discrimination, lack of training, insuffient promotion, a high workload, the absence
of effective performance appraisal, poor relationship between workers and
supervisors, insufficient safety and security conditions, a lac of worker
participation in decision making, and forcing workers to work overtime. A few
other factors are the low literacy rate and the availability of semi-skilled employees.
