In this activity, my students are going to use Quizlet to create a study guide for different
terms .
Pedagogy Planning
Activity Activity: Creating a Study Guide on Quizlet
This activity will allow the students to further practice
their reading comprehension skills for the SOL by
creating their own study guide for different terms using
Quizlet. Students will pick four terms that they feel
they need the most work on to include in their study
guides.

Instructions:
1. Share your screen from the computer onto the
Smartboard.
2. Log in to Quizlet.
3. Once you are logged in, type in “Ms. Nkalubo’s
Reading Study Guide” in search bar. This is the
Quizlet you will show the students as a
reference. After that, pull up another tab and
log into Quizlet again. This tab will be used to
provide students with a quick step-by-step
tutorial on how to create their own (you do not
have to save this).
4. Instruct each student to pull out their
Chromebooks.
5. Instruct students to type in “Quizlet.com” and
wait for further instructions from you (link will
be written on the whiteboard).
6. Once on Quizlet, tell them to go to the
“Create” button and click the section that says
“Study set”.
7. The title of each of their study sets should be
“(Last Name) Reading SOL Study Guide”.
8. From there, each student can enter five
terms/definitions from previous lessons that
they feel they need to work on (previous
worksheets can also be found on their
Chromebooks). You can also pull my reference
study guide back up.
*Definitions must be in their own words!
9. Walk around classroom to ensure each student
is staying on task and answer any questions
that they may have.
