1. Extend Traditional Welcome/ Welcome Drinks to the Guest.

What precaution will you take for SBs?
There is a definite procedure to keep a control on guest with scanty baggage.
• Notify the lobby manager and the registration desk as soon as
a guest arrives with scanty baggage.
• Stamp “Scanty Baggage” on the GRC.
• Stamp “Scanty Baggage” on the Bell boy Errand Card.
• Ask for a deposit from the guest, with the help of the LM who
would Sign the GRC.
• A scanty baggage register would be then updated and signed
by the LM.

16.As a F.O.A how do you up sell the room?

 Know the product.


 Control the encounter. Ask specific (Close ended) questions, such as “ we have a
double room on our executive floor, Is that suitable for you? Avoid vague, open
ended questions like “ what kind of room you are looking for?”.
 Sell high but avoid force selling techniques.
 Always quote the full rate plus taxes.
 Turn a negative feature of the room into an advantage for the guest, for eg. A room
without a view becomes a quite room and a room near the swimming pool that is
quite noisy can be portrayed as a room which is easily accessible if one plans to do a
lot swimming.
 Ask for the sale, once all the information are presented the clerk must gently, but
resolutely, close the sell.
 Try to anticipate the guest needs and offer services, suggestion and advice.

ANS.__ All baggage of the guest to be unloaded and kept at one side and all bags are tagged, the
rooming list is collected from the group leader or reception and room numbers are marked and then
baggage is sorted out floor wise and delivered to the rooms by bellboys floor wise in the trolley.

12. What is Concierge and its function.
