Social Media can Help or Hurt you

Social media is not a media. The key is to listen, engage, and build relationships. Everyone is

comparing lives on social media and wants the perfect body, perfect image, perfect outfit,

perfect life were striving for this perfection, and it’s so unhealthy because there’s no such as

perfection.

Social media has so many positive effects that can help you, examples are, on education

including better communication, timely information, socializing online, learning, enhancing

skills, making career like making video on tiktok or YouTube. According to one study , 81% of

teen ages 13 to 17 says that social media makes them feel more connected to the people

whose dear to them. While 68%

says, using it makes them feel supported during tough time.

Social media

helps people strengthen their relationship,

create, new connections and find social support in

tough time.

Social media and technology offer us greater convenience

and connectivity, making

us connected with family and friends worldwide via email, text, Facetime, Facebook, Instagram,

etc. quick access to information and research.

But at the same time it had

some negative

effects which include identify theft like there’s a person using your account to access your

friends or family. He or she is using your account to lend some money of them and they didn't doubt
to lend some thinking it was really you. Cyber bullying,

example of this is you have an old picture

that looks ugly and your friend in Facebook have that photo. He purposely posted it without your

permission thus making fun of you online. However multiple

studies have found a strong likes between heavy social media and an increased risk for
depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media promote

negative experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life appearance.

In conclusion the excessive use of social media has also caused problems with addiction,

negative impact of family, as well as deterioration of family relations, physical

and mental health.
