A Case Study: Land Dispute Analysis in Taguitic, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte
Cutshall, Alden. "Problems of Landownership in the Philippine Islands." Economic Geography
28, no. 1 (1952), 31. doi:10.2307/141618.
The journal provided the different problems of land ownership in the Philippine and how
it affected the history in the land pursuit. It questioned the problems of the land
ownership pattern and agricultural development in the various islands and provinces that
are somewhat different. These differences, however, are not that significant that they alter
the overall model, as neither province exceeds the general problem completely. The
ownership is a major obstacle to the resolution of agricultural problems and will probably
continue to be so for some time to come. So long as the vocal minority can benefit, some
dispute and misfortune will continue at the expense of the voiceless majority. In any case,
the majority of economic activity will rest on the land for many years directly or
indirectly. The solution is expected to be gradual, peaceful, not abrupt and violent.

Balisacan, A.M. 1994. Poverty, urbanization and development policy: a Philippine perspective.
Quezon City, Philippines, University of the Philippine Press.
The book emphasizes the occuring poverty in the Philippines and how it affected the
development in different aspects; economic, social and political. It describes the roots of
the poverty problem in the Philippines as industrial and spatial policies that have unfairly
promoted infrastructure and social services concentration in major urban centres; trade
and macroeconomic policies that have seriously penalized agriculture, labor-intensive
exports and small- and medium-sized manufacturing institutions. The book discusses
how to improve policies for the poor, for the market and for pro-growth, particularly with
a view to correcting disincentives to rapid employment, balanced urban and rural growth
and human capital formation, taking account of economic constraints and economic
considerations in particular.

Land Conflicts Issue. (n.d.). Asian NGO Coalition – For Agrarian Reform and Rural
Development. https://angoc.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Land_Conflicts_Issue_Brief.pdf
The article discusses the land conflict violences and what are the immediate responses
from the government regarding the issue. They concluded that land and natural resources have
always been conflicting sources. Land and natural resources violence, resulting deaths and
damages caused by less powerful people, in particular rural poor, are still prevalent. There is not
only a growing conflict between land and natural resources but also a growing level of conflict –
often with the use of violence. Thus, the impending issues of land conflict should be reformed by
the government and create solutions to the problem.
