I. INTRODUCTION
"We cannot stop natural disasters but we can arm ourselves with knowledge". This
quotation had given me a lot of meaningful realizations between working out the things with our
resources and training ourselves to be a prepared citizen of our country. Being a prepared citizen
of our country for the disasters we can always escape unfortunate things and occurrences to
happen. Disasters are unpredictable, but when we use to be prepared all the time we can always
put and make sure to ourselves and to the people we love that we are always safe. In life, we
cannot always know what we should do and what should we do not do to prevent injuries and
unwanted events to happen but because of the cooperation and knowledge we bring and
contribute to each one of us we can always win the battle of this natural phenomena.
In order to give knowledge and bring hopes for the people in Brgy. Guyo Las Navas N.
Samar, we the NSTP - CWTS students conducted a program that greatly empowered and
enlightened the minds of the residents of Brgy. Guyo about the preparedness in the disasters like
typhoon, flood, earthquake, landslide, transportation accidents, terrorists’ attacks and etc. We
promote to educate the minds of the residents of Brgy. Guyo to have an awareness, to store
important knowledge, to input practicality in their minds and hearts and to help them know what
should a responsible resident should do to prevent casualties in disasters like typhoon.
Knowledge is our power to help ourselves win against this battle, thus in order to help
others to keep safe at this time of uncertainties we choose to bring knowledge that lasts forever
in the minds of the people of Brgy. Guyo. By creating the knowledge in our minds and lighting it
by the times of our everyday lives we can always feel safe to live our lives to the fullest.
II. OBJECTIVES
The program "Mga Kalamidad, Andam na Kami!" for disaster preparedness dimension aimed the
following;
To spread awareness about what should the community needs to know about disaster -
causes, effects and mitigation.
To inform the residents of Brgy. Guyo about the things they need to know about proper

To orient the residents about what they should do after the disaster.
Lastly, to reduce the risk and damages brought by disaster through preparedness and
mitigation.
B. Activities
The program started by the welcome talk, giving gratitude and explaining the purpose
and objectives of the CWTS trainees to the participants and it was followed by an opening
prayer. First, the orient about disaster preparedness started by defining the term 'disaster' and the
two types of disaster - natural and man-made disasters and how it greatly affects the barangay.
Second, the discussion about what are the proper actions that should be done before, during and
after a disaster. Next, a video was presented to the participants about the Go Bag and the project
team discussed the importance of having. Also, the things that should be inside the bag. The
program (for the disaster preparedness dimension) ended through giving snacks with the
participants.
IV. PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED
The program was a success due to the project team's determination ang willingness to
accomplish it with the aid of the Barangay Officials. However, there are still some problems
Encountered before and during the community immersion. These are the following;
Before Community Immersion
Completing the budget for the projects' expenses, although the expenses did not cost a lot for
it is a group.
Looking for the resources/materials that should be used (laptop, speakers, projector)
Determining the proper way of approaching the participants and the looking for the topics
that have relevance with the place and people.

During Community Immersion
Power interruption, however, it was solved by using power generator.
V. RECOMENDATIONS
If I would give a recommendation that would be about the electricity. Our program needs
electricity since almost all of our activities depends on the electricity. Thus, I would recommend
for a Barangay official to provide a generator so if in the case of electricity interruptions
activities like programs, meetings and etc. will not be interrupted. As also a CWTS trainee, I
have observed that there is need for;
Sufficient knowledge about the community immersion and with the different dimensions
Sufficient time for preparation - for equipment’s and learning the things that should and must
be done.
Knowing the value of time and every detail of the project and most importantly, having
cooperation within the group.

I. INTRODUCTION
Pandemic has affected us in different aspects of our lives, especially it affects our
psychological aspect. Due to quarantines and lockdowns, we are not allowed to go outside
and children suffers more boredom than we think they are. That is why the CWTS trainees
decided to choose the sports and recreation dimension to ease the boredom even just for a
short period of time, to spread happiness and let the children feel their smiles on their lips.
II. OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this program is to provide entertainment and enjoyment
specifically to children through sports and fun games. Specifically, this program aims to;
Carry out games for children;
Engage the participants in socialization and teaching them the sense of teamwork.
Spread positivity and happiness; and
Give light and hope amidst of pandemic.
B. Activities
Because the participants ate children, the facilitators of the games instruct the
directions first, clearly and in the easiest way is that participants can easily grasp the
mechanics of each game. In every game, participants were grouper into five (5) to seven
(7) members, and two (2) to six (6) groups per game, depending on the number of
participants. Participants that already won a game claims their prizes and will not be
allowed to join another game. While the participants that didn't won are allowed to join
the preceding games. In this way, almost all of the participants had the chance to get the
