Background of the study
• The Pandemic became a huge challenge to the education sector
and students became anxious about their future.
• As an action, the Department of Education made alternative
learning modalities to offer. However, the teaching methods are
still important to be assessed to effectively deliver the critical
information students should learn.
• The challenges that the Students faced during the
implementation of different learning modalities along with the
teaching methods must be examined, as well as the intermediate
factors so that their effects on their academic performances can be
identified.
Review of Related Literature and Studies

• In order to bring improvements in all aspects, and utilize

modern and innovate techniques and methods, individuals
needs to bring about awareness and enhance educational
skills (Kapur, 2018)
• Blazar and Kraft (2017), students' attitudes and behaviors
are predicted by teaching practices most proximal to these
measures, including teachers' emotional support and
classroom organization.
• Student performance, student progress and student potential
are critical for measuring learning results, selecting learning
materials and learning activities (Yhang & Li, 2018).
Review of Related Literature and Studies

• Vijayan (2021), Educators should continue to go to

extraordinary lengths to deliver quality and content of learning
in an effective way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• According to Gupta (2018), bringing desirable changes in
students will work effectively if educators will use the best
teaching methods.
• Sudden shift of learning methods has impacted educators
that caused huge difficulty in learning and teaching (Tarrayo,
Paz & Gepila, 2021)

Statement of the Problem
The study aims to determine the effects of different kinds of teaching method
to the academic performances among Grade 11 students of San Luis
National Highschool. This study wants to address the following questions:

1. What are the problems or challenges faced by students in different kinds of

teaching methods?

2. Why different teaching methods are important for the learning

development of a student?

3. How do students adjust to the different kinds of teaching methods?

4. How important it is to know what teaching method to be used for learning?

Significance of the Study
• The students. They will realized the effects of different kinds of teaching
methods to their academic performances, and also they will know what
teaching method is the most effective for them.

• The teachers. It will help them identify the most effective teaching method
for their student and they can also make new better ways of teaching.

• The school administrators. This will help them notice the strengths and
weaknesses of different kinds of teaching methods, allowing them to
develop a more effective learning programs.

• The future researchers. The study will act as a guide on the similar topic
to develop their own research and also to use as review of related
literature.
Scope and Delimitations of the Study

• We focuses on grade 11 STEM students in San

Luis National High School. The different learning
modalities along with the different teaching
methods and approaches being used. The
existence of COVID-19 pandemic conduct
extraordinary challenges to the stakeholders,
teachers, parents, and students. We researchers
believed that there is an effect of teaching-learning
process in new normal education to students’
performance most especially using modular type
of learning in STEM students.
Methods

This portion presents the method and techniques of

the study, this also includes the type of research, the
research instrument, the data collection and the data
processing used. The applied research design will be
explained to monitor the legitimacy and importance
of the conducted study.

Data Collection Procedure and Ethical Considerations

The researchers will seek the Principal along with the participant’s
permission from San Luis National High School to perform the
study. The surveys (containing close-ended questions) and
structured one-on-one interviews (containing open-ended
questions) are thoroughly designed in an ethical way to avoid any
objectionable questions that may affect the respondents’ honesty.
The responses that will be gathered will be treated with complete
confidentiality to keep participants’ identities private or anonymous
and protect them from any potential harm.
