Visiting Fellowship Programme 2021


Objectives What does the fellowship offer?
• Promote training and facilitate global Funding to spend between one and three months
• capacity development at another oceanographic institute, anywhere
• Advance sustained global ocean in the world, to receive training on any aspect
observations & their applications of oceanographic observation analyses and
interpretation. The fellowship is NOT intended
for an academic course of study, or for research.
What is needed to apply?

What is covered? • Oxygen and other biogeochemical sensors
on Floats and Gliders
• International airfare
• Ocean and coastal
• Transport from airport to host institution
modelling
• Contribution towards living expenses
• Data management
• Argo floats & gliders
What is NOT covered? • Acoustic observations
• Domestic travel in home country and modelling
• Visa costs and • Optical measurements of
insurance living and non-living
• Salary/bursary particles
• Training costs • Time series measurements of N2O and CH4
• Ocean observations and modelling in the
Indian Ocean
Who can apply?
• Fixed-point time-series observations (e.g.
• Scientists
contributing to OceanSITES, IODE Ocean
• Technicians Data Portal, WOD and/or other shared data
• Postgraduate systems)
students • Large-scale, operational biological
• Post-doctoral observations including biodiversity (e.g.
fellows biological Essential Ocean Variables including
… from developing the Continuous Plankton Recorder and other
