with their works. In this module, you will learn and identify some of the Art Forms
that are related to Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Music and its History.

to complex in order to help the learners gradually master the
desired learning competency. The learners will be able to
continue learned the music of the three periods and at the
same time it’s famous composers.

What is It

Other Art Forms


1. Painting- application of pigments to a support surface that establishes
an image, design or decoration.

o The Mona Lisa is a half-length


portrait painting by the Italian
artist Leonardo da Vinci. It is
considered an archetypal
masterpiece of the Italian
Renaissance, and has been
described as "the best known,
the most visited, the most written
about, the most sung about, the
most parodied work of art in the
world".

2. Sculpture- a branch of the visual arts that operates in three dimensions


through carving and modelling, in stone, metal, ceramics, wood and other
materials.

o The Pieta (English: "The Piety";


1498–1499) is a work
of Renaissance sculpture
by Michelangelo Buonarroti,
housed in St. Peter's
Basilica, Vatican City. This
famous work of art depicts the
body of Jesus on the lap of his
mother Mary after
the Crucifixion.

3. Architecture- an art and science of designing buildings and other physical
structures.

o The Hagia Sophia, whose


name means “holy wisdom,” is
a Baroque domed monument
originally built as a cathedral
in Constantinople (now
Istanbul, Turkey) in the sixth
century A.D

4. Theatre- a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers to present
the experience of a real or imagined event in a live audience in a specific place or
stage.

o Romeo and Juliet is


a Renaissance
tragedy written by William
Shakespeare early in his
career about two
young star-crossed lovers
whose deaths ultimately
reconcile their feuding
families.

5. Dance- an art form created by the movement of the human body performed on a
stage to an audience utilizing costumes, scenic design and lighting.

o Carole was one of the main

Europe in the 12th and 14th
centuries. It was a relatively
simple dance done by men and
