NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA

S.Y 2021-2022
 

I. INTRODUCTION

The school is an institution which is responsible in molding the learners into a


responsible individual in the society. This is where one is crafted into a better person, who
will be an emblem of the kind of learning centre where one was raised.

A call to action for “ Bayanihan sa Paaralan” amid COVID 19 situation is a battle cry
set by the Department of Education for this year’s Brigada Eskwela 2021. Brigada Eskwela
will deviate from the usual activities in the previous years, instead it will prioritize
preparations and strengthening partnership engagement to ensure that quality education
will continue despite the challenges posed by the pandemic that has wreaked havoc not
only in the country but the entire world. Relative to the COVID-19 outbreak, the office of the
President has issued Proclamation #922 s. 2020 declaring a state of public health emergency
all throughout the Philippines.

               Balite High School with the leadership of the dynamic School Head, Mr. Rey M.
Langcuban has initiated the implementation of the new normal in this year’s Brigada
Eskwela 2021 together with the collaborative efforts of the Brigada Coordinator and
Technical Working Committee.

                 During the preparation; letter of invitations was drafted then possible partners are
identified after. To further promote and scout for stakeholders, infomercial through social
media were prepared; meeting and consultations with stakeholders and partners were
intensified.

Uploading promotional and advocacy campaigns on social media platforms were posted. All
throughout the duration of the campaign an overwhelming result were achieved. 

Stakeholders who expressed willingness the initiative were requested to donate thermal
scanners, hand sanitizing equipment, face masks, face shields, disinfecting chemicals,
personal protective equipment, and other materials needed to alleviate the threat of the
virus.   Stakeholders pledged to sustain the needs of the school in terms of health and
safety, quality education, access to learning governance and partnership in the new normal
in basic education through collaboration and involvement as part of their corporate social
responsibility and in the spirit of Bayanihan and volunteerism to improve the learner’s
academic performance.  

           In this trying time, we converge as one in realizing the vision and mission of the
Department of Education. We are one in transpiring the dream of every learner.
II. OBJECTIVES

 Prepare the whole school community for another school year


 Encourage all education stakeholders to contribute for the success of the
undertakings.
 Make national campaign for healthy and hazard-free school zone.
 Invite other private individuals, stakeholders, and entities to provide support in any
ways/means to public school near their residence
 Develop cooperation and “sense of responsibility” among people of the community.

III. HIGHLIGHTS OF ACTIVITIES

            DepEd formally launched “BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021” from August 16- September 3,
2021 in all public elementary and high schools nationwide. The primary aim of the program
is to prepare the whole school community for another school year.

            On the first day of Brigada Eskwela, August 16, 2021, as part of the advocacy
program, Balite High School Teachers together with Brgy. Officials and member of AFP. This
was led by Mr. Rey M. Langcuban, School Head of Balite High School conducted a
community service by picking pieces of garbage in roads around brgy. Balite. Recorded
announcement were also played to disseminate the information .

Mr. Rey M. Langcuban, School Head spearheaded all the activities designed for the one
week operation of cleaning and preparing the school for another meaningful year. He also
announced the designated tasks/assignments to the different areas. On the second and
third day the operation was started by grade 7 parents. The whole cleaning force started
cleaning and repairing comfort rooms, improving the water facilities and drainage systems
and the most important of all which is cleaning and improving the physical facilities of the
school. The said activity was led by the Grade 7 Adviser– Mr. Carjed T. Bayog.

            On August 19, with the help of teacher in charged, checking of attendance had been
done before they started the activity. As the officer of the day, Edgar Hantoc Brgy. captain
led and monitored the entire activities for the whole day such as the continuation of
cleaning/improvement of physical facilities, cleaning of ceiling and walls , cleaning/ repairing
of comfort rooms, as well as cleaning the classrooms .

            On the fifth day, August 20, 2021, after the checking of attendance ,cutting of grasses
in the back part of the school was initiated. This was initiated by our Men in Uniform and
monitored by Ma’am Rachel C. Tabaranza.

On August 23-28, 2021, after checking the attendance, disposing garbage and trash
had been immediately accomplished by the whole cleaning force.  Planting of different
plants was also done. Cleaning of/improving all areas of the school was also accomplished
which had been generally monitored by the officers -Ma’am. Madelyn A. Zarandona, Ma’am
Marites A. Amang , Ma’am Cristy D. Famador.
On the last day of the activity, September 3, 2021, continuation of cleaning and
classroom sanitizing and other school facilities by Senior high school parents at the same
time evaluation and monitoring of the accomplishments done this was led by Senior High
School advisers Mr. Roland Maya and Mr. Myrix Laguras.

        As a whole, all the tasks were successfully done and completed for this Dep-Ed project.
Stakeholders showed their initiatives providing anything that could result to a successful
event. With this, we could say that the school is now well prepared to be the second home
of the learners being a hazard-free and virus free.

1. Fund Generated

     A very minimal MOOE is allocated properly based on the monthly cash program
prepped.  Priority is given to the improvement of instructional materials of teachers in the
same way as for the development of student performance.  Also, some part of it is allocated
for the improvement of school physical facilities like slight repair, improvement of signage
system, repainting of worn out areas.  Aside from the MOOE, other expenses are charged to
the PTCA voluntary contribution, donation, and the stakeholders.   
2. Attendance

To have a successful activity, cooperation and hard work must be present. In all the
activities that were completed for the Brigada Eskwela, teachers, parents, SPG officers, Brgy.
Officials had fully participated with a 100% attendance.
