１） Phenomenon of problem

We have provided the new printer switching unit and concerned cables because of the previous model
is discontinued in production.

２） Information or countermeasures

If required to exchange the printer switching unit for the JSS-296/596/896 to repair it, arrange the
following things as the new ones.

- Printer switching unit : AF-142 (5EZPD00006)

- Cable to the NCT-196N : KRS-101K (5ZCDH00014)
- Cable to the NDZ-127J : KRS-101K (5ZCDH00014)
- Cable to the NKG-800 : KPU-PS2-15K (5ZCXA00009)

Printer Switching Unit for NCT-196N Replacement Procedures

„ Replacement parts „
Arrange the following unit and cables, and the wiring diagram is as follows.
- Printer switching unit : AF-142 (5EZPD00006)
- Cable to the NCT-196N : KRS-101K (5ZCDH00014)
- Cable to the NDZ-127J : KRS-101K (5ZCDH00014)
- Cable to the NKG-800 : KPU-PS2-15K (5ZCXA00009)

„ Procedure „

1) Set the TIME-OUT switch on the

AF-142 to 15 seconds.

2) Remove the NCT-196N and NDZ-127J

from the GMDSS console. Additionally,

remove printer cables connected to
unit: SW-ATB21K
the NCT-196N, NDZ-127J, NKG-800,
and also the old printer switching unit
(SW-ATB21K).

The printer cables are fixed to the

GMDSS console. These cables should
be insulated at the connectors using
tape or something similar, but are not
needed to be removed from the console.

3) Mount the new printer switching unit

(AF-142) and connect the new cables
to it.

Fix the cables to the GMDSS console

using the banding bands.

To NKG-800
Printer

To NCT-196N To NDZ-127J
DSC/NBDP Modem Data Terminal

4) Connect the cables to the NCT-196N,

NDZ-127J and NKG-800 respectively.
Then restore the GMDSS console.
