CSM:

o Helps students and alumni to employment and careers opportunities


o Accessed by 3 types of users:
- Students/Alumni
- Employer
- Faculty
o You have to choose your user type
o To sign in, you must have an account
o To create your account you have 2 options:
- Importing them from a data file
- Self-registration
(Depending on the client institution preferences)
o If self-registration is not permitted, a user may register by clicking the “sign up” button. Then
completing and submitting the registration form.
o Returning to the sign in page, you’ll notice some options for branding the system
o Client institution may select background images for the landing page and for the student,
employer and faculty sign in pages.
o The system may also be branded with the system name, a logo and a colour scheme.
o Signing in as a student:
- On the student interface, the user will see the system logo at the top left and a search
field in the center.
- From the poll down menu at the top right, the user can
o Access account information, a link to helpful tips, or log out
o Switch to accessibility mode
- The student interface navigation to the left, and in the center the students photo and
cover image as well as a news feed
- To the right are links to the commonly used resources and an option to submit
feedbacks to the students career center
o Several tools career centers use to communicate relevant information to the students:
- In the news feed, announcements can be displayed to all students, or to a
targeted group of students.
- Information about career center sponsors are highlighted to the right of the
cover image.
- The bell seen at the top right displays the system notifications specific to the
user.

Navigation menu:

o Under JOBS :
- Student can view, search and apply for jobs and internships
- They can also see a list of recommended jobs
- Track their job applications
- Access external job systems
o Under Profile:
- Edit their photo and cover image
- Add profile details (education, experience…)
- Add links (email address, Facebook, LinkedIn…)
- Upload a resume
- If a student decide to publish their profile, the profile will appear with the students
resume and job applications
- Students can also share a public link to their profile
o Under DOCUMENTS:
- Students can upload resumes, cover letters and other documents
o Under EVENTS, CAREER FAIR, INFORMATION SESSIONS and WORKSHOPS:
- Inside the information session, a map displays the event location, if a map has an
rsvp, the student can book the event in advance.
o EMPLOYER DIRECTORY:
- A list of the employee records in the system with additional information and details
about the employer
- Students can follow an employer by clicking the star next to their name
- A student can view the list of employers they’re following
o Under RESSOURCES:
- Several tools that career centers can elect to display to students :
- Career explorer : a database of career and industry information
- Career finder : asks students questions to help them determine which career they
may enjoy and should explore
- Document library : students can view resources shared by their institutions in the
form of file, links or videos
o Under CALENDAR:
- List of calendar events displayed on month view of calendar page
o Under MY ACCOUNT:
- Students can edit their account information
- Privacy and notification settings

o As an employer:
- Click on the “employer” option
- Employer are organisations, and contacts are the ones that will log in on behalf of
their employer to do things like post jobs and view students and alumni resumes.
- By clicking on sign up, the employer will self-register and will open the employer
registration
- The registration page asks basic questions about the contact and the contact’s
employer
- After signing in:
 In the center of the page, contacts will notice announcements posted by
career center staff
 Announcements may communicate: System information, upcoming events,
other relevant messages
- Contacts may also see alerts automatically posted by the system: for example when
a student apply for a job that the employer offers.
o At the top right, is a pull down menu:
- The contact can link to their account details and helpful tips or enable accessibility
mode.
- On the right side of the page are links to internal system resources, relevant external
resources provided by the career center and a form to send feedback to career
center staff.
o To the left, the employer profile allows contacts to complete information about their
organization such as the industry, logo, employer overview and website.
 These details are viewable by students who have access to the employer
directory.
o From the jobs navigation menu, an employer can post jobs and view student in alumni
applicants and application material.
o Under the events menu, career fare offers opportunity to register for career events
published by career center staff.
o With information session, contacts may submit a request to host an information session
event on campus.
o Resume books: contacts can search for student resume uploaded to csm.
 Current resumes of student in alumni, contacts can search resume books with
keywords or a powerful resume text search feature or by academic information
such as major.
 The contact will see a list of student names and their basic academic profile
information such as major, graduation date…
 In order to be listed here, the student must be granted the csm system
permission to share their resume.
 The view resume link open the student resume document.
 The contact can use options to save the student list on excel or pdf of resumes.
 A third option allows contact to send an email to csm to students selected here
o Calendar : displays recruiting event
o Under my account, a contact may update their account information and password
o Sign out as our contact
