Descendants of the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”

Muhammad “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam” had 3 sons and
4 daughters.

They are;

 Qasim (radi Allahu anho)


 Abdullah/Tahir (radi Allahu anho)
 Ibrahim (radi Allahu anho)
 Zainab (radi Allahu anha)
 Ruqayya (radi Allahu anha)
 Umm-e- Kulthum (radi Allahu anha)
 Fatimah (radi Allahu anha)

Qasim (radi Allahu anho)

 He was the first child of Muhammad Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin


SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam” and Khadijah (radi Allahu anha).
 When he died, he was hardly old enough to walk.
 Because of him, Muhammad “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi
Wasallam” was also known as Abu-ul-Qasim.

Abdullah/Tahir (radi Allahu anho)

 He was the second child of Muhammad Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin


SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam” and Khadijah (radi Allahu anha).
 When he passed away in his child-hood, the Quraish taunted the Holy Prophet
“Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam” by saying, “Cut off
from offspring/Abtar.”
 Surah Al-Kauthar was revealed at the sorrowful incident of his demise to comfort
the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”.

Ibrahim (radi Allahu anho)

 Ibraheem (radi Allahu anho) was born to Maria Qibtia (radi Allahu anha).
 He also passed away while he was an infant.
 On his demise the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi
Wasallam” said, “O Ibraheem, we do not say anything which displeases the Cherisher
though eyes are wet with tears and heart is afflicted with grief.”
 The day when he passed away, by chance there was a solar or lunar eclipse, as
per belief some people said it is because of Ibraheem’s demise,
 But the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”
negated this superstition by declaring it as signs of Allah’s power.

Zainab (radi Allahu anha)

 She was born to Khadijah (radi Allahu anha).


 Zainab’s (radi Allahu anha) husband, Abu-ul-Aas, became a prisoner of war after
Badr.
 He was released without any ransom, but on the condition that Zainab (radi Allahu
anha) would be allowed to migrate to Madinah.
 Abu-ul-Aas became a Muslim after the Treaty of Hudaybia.
 She passed away in Madinah in 8 A.H.

Ruqayya (radi Allahu anha)

 She was the second daughter of Muhammad “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin


SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”.
 She was married to Utbah son of Abu Lahab then to Uthman (radi Allahu anho).
 She died of smallpox in 2 A.H, at the time of the Battle of Badr.
 She was 21 years old at that time.

Umm-e- Kulthum (radi Allahu anha)

 She was the third daughter of Muhammad “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin


SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”.
 She was married to Utaiba son of Abu Lahab. Later to Uthman (radi Allahu anho)
married her after the demise of Ruqayya (radi Allahu anha).
 She died without any offspring in 9 A.H.
Fatimah (radi Allahu anha)

 She was the youngest and most beloved daughter of Muhammad “Rasool Allah Khatam-
un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”.
 One day Abu Jahal placed filth at the back of the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah
Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”. She ran to the place, released
the Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”
and cleaned his head.
 Fatimah (radi Allahu anha) married Ali (radi Allahu anho).
 She participated in the Battle of Uhad by serving water and dressing the wounds
of the soldiers.
 The Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”
gave her a Tasbih to recite to cast off the worries, it is known as Tasbihat-e-
Fatimi
 She was a symbol of piety.
 Holy Prophet’s “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”
progeny continues from her
 The Holy Prophet “Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam”
respected her a lot that he would stand for her and spread his shawl for her to
sit when ever she visited him.
Imam Husain (alaiyhissalam)

 Younger son of Ali (alaiyhissalam) and Fatimah (alaiyhassalam).


 Imam Hasan (alaiyhissalam), on his death bed handed over the charge of Imamat to
his brother.
 He did not swear allegiance to Yazid due to his character.
 A deputation of the people of Kufa asked him to come to the rescue of the faith.
 Imam Husain (alaiyhissalam) sent his cousin, Muslim bin Aqeel, to Kufa to assess
the situation.
 In Kufa, thousands paid homage to Imam Husain (alaiyhissalam).
 The Governor of Kufa (deputy of Yazid) made the people desert Muslim bin Aqeel
and ultimately killed him.
 On his way to Kufa, Imam Husain (alaiyhissalam) heard the news of the
assassination of his cousin.
 Yazid’s army surrounded the Imam’s camp at Karbala.
 By 10th Muharram, almost all of the Imam’s male companions were martyred.
 The male survivors of this tragedy were Zain-ul-Abideen, his son Muhammad and
Hasan Musanna (alaiyhimussalam).
 The women and children were taken as prisoners.
 Imam’s head was cut off and taken to Yazid’s court.
