Intimacy on set with Ita O’Brien

Used to be called an intimacy director but directors felt it was stepping on their toes.
- They are coordinating with the director/ actor etc.

- Openness and transparency. Bringing it up is the actor’s responsibility.


- Actors can offer the intimacy guidelines to the director.
- If anything feels gratuitous, does not serve the character or the storyline. Have a
conversation with the director. Is it necessary? What is the moment about? IC
facilitates the actors and directors to talk about it.
