iS3000 Port Addressing

Technical Training
iS3000 Port Addressing
Introduction

• A PBX consists of many ports, also known as circuits

• Ports in system are connected to external devices, such as phones, trunks, etc.
• Each port has an address, so it is identified in the system internally
• iS3000 has such architecture
• Central Control Module, which controls PMs
• PM (Peripheral Module), also known as shelf, which controls UGs. PM has PMC (Peripheral
Module Controller) CM
• UG (Unit Group), which contains 32 ports
• Board, which is installed in UG PM PM PM

• Port (circuit), which connects phones or trunks, etc.

• Known as iS3030
• Each PM (chassis) contains two shelves with 9 or 10 Ugs
• iS3030 can be expanded to iS3030E by adding second chassis with interconnecting both PMCs
• CPU is in slot 8, lower shelf of first PM. PMC is in slot 7 of lower shelf

UG Connections in PM

• Switching matrix is located in PMC (iS3030, iS3000-

19L), CSN-BC (iS3050) or SNS (iS3070/3090)
• UGs in 2Mbps PCM format are connected to switching
matrix via back panel or front cables
• Switching matrix provides non-blocking TDM circuit
connections
