I Love Sixpence

I love sixpence, jolly, jolly, sixpence,

I love sixpence better than my life.
I spent a penny of it, I spent a penny of it,
I took four pence home to my mother.

I love four pence, jolly, jolly four pence,

I love four pence better than my life.
I spent a penny of it, I spent a penny of it,
I took two pence home to my mother.

I love two pence, jolly, jolly two pence,

I love two pence better than my life.
I spent a penny of it, I spent a penny of it,
I took nothing home to my mother.

Once I had a fancy

Once I had a fancy to see a foreign land

I sailed in a boat, in a very fine boat
I sailed to the Zulu’s land
A man sat beside me,
in a cool and cozy way
and when I shared my love to him
this is what he said
Eeichuka maacha, eeicha boocha
chinaki maacha cholam
chikki chikki cholam chinnakki cholam eiya eiya oh

We shall overcome

We shall overcome, we shall overcome,

we shall overcome, some day
Oh ! deep in our hearts, we do believe,
we shall overcome someday.

We walk hand in hand, we walk hand in hand,

we walk hand in hand someday,
Oh ! deep in our hearts, we do believe,
We walk hand in hand, someday,

We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace,

we shall live in peace, someday,
Oh ! deep in our hearts, we do believe,
we shall live in peace some day.

Red River Valley

From this valley they say you are going

We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For they say you are taking the sunshine
That has brightened our pathway a while

Come and sit by our side if you love us

Do not hasten to bid us adieu
But remember the red river valley
And the friends who have loved you so true

Won’t you think of the valley you are leaving?

Oh how lonely, and sad it will be,
Oh think of the fond hearts you’re leaving
And the grief you are causing to us

Count your blessings

When upon life billows you are tempest tossed

when you are discouraged thinking all is lost
count your many blessings name them one by one
and it will surprise you what the lord has done.

Chorus : Count your blessings name them one by one

Count your blessings see what God has done
Count your blessings name them one by one

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear
Count your many blessings every doubt will fly
And I will keep singing as the days go by – chorus

Give thanks to the God above
Give thanks because he’s given

My Grand Fathers Clock

My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf

So it stood ninety years on the floor
It was taller by half than the old man himself
Though it weighed not a pennyweight more
It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born
And was always his treasure and pride
But it stopped, short never to go again
When the old man died

Ninety years without slumbering tick tock tick tock

His life seconds numbering tick tock tick tock
It stopped, short never to go again
When the old man died

My grandfather said that of those he could hire

Not a servant so faithful he found
For it wasted no time and had but one desire
At the close of each week to be wound
And it kept in its place, not a frown upon its face
And its hands never hung by its side
But it stopped short, never to go again
When the old man died – Ninety years……..

It rang and alarmed in the dead of the night

An alarm that for years had been dumb
And we knew that his spirit was pluming for flight
That his hour for departure had come
Still the clock kept the time with a soft and muffled chime
As we silently stood by his side
But it stopped short, never to go again
When the old man died – Ninety years………..

Liberation song

"The world stands in need of liberation my Lord

it still has to learn to love
the dumb and the deaf
the blind and the lame
all need to feel your healing touch.

There are those who have eyes who refuse to see

there inhumanity to men
there are those who have ears who refuse to hear
the cries of men in agony.

There are those who have mouths who refuse to speak

against injustice done to men.
There are those who have hands who refuse
to reach them out in love and brotherhood.

Happiness
Happiness, happiness is making others happy
Happiness, happiness is there for you and me
Happiness, happiness you can’t buy with money
Happiness, happiness can only be received , its free.

Happiness, happiness is walking right beside you

Happiness, happiness is knocking at your door
Happiness, happiness you can’t live without it
Happiness, happiness there’s always more and more, I am sure…

Home on the range

Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the skies are not cloudy all day.
Chorus Home, home on the range,
Where the deer and the antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the skies are not cloudy all day.
Where the air is so pure, and the zephyrs so free,
The breezes so balmy and light,
That I would not exchange my home on the range,
For all of the cities so bright.
The Red man was pressed from this part of the west,
He's likely no more to return,
To the banks of the Red River where seldom if ever
Their flickering campfires burn.
How often at night when the heavens are bright,
With the light from the glittering stars,
Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed,
If their glory exceeds that of ours.
Oh, I love these wild flowers in this dear land of ours,
The curlew I love to hear cry,
And I love the white rocks and the antelope flocks,
That graze on the mountain slopes high.
Oh give me a land where the bright diamond sand,
Flows leisurely down in the stream;
Where the graceful white swan goes gliding along,
Like a maid in a heavenly dream.
Then I would not exchange my home on the range,
Where the deer and the antelope play;
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

My favorite things

Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels

Doorbells and sleigh bells
And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites

When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper…
Song for susanna

I come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee,

I'm going to Louisiana, my true love for to see.
It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry
The sun so hot I froze to death, Susanna, don't you cry.
Chorus
Oh! Susanna, Oh don't you cry for me,
For I come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee.
I had a dream the other night, when everything was still;
I thought I saw Susanna dear, a coming down the hill.
A buckwheat cake was in her mouth, a tear was in her eye,
Says I, I'm coming from the south, Susanna, don't you cry.
I soon will be in New Orleans, and then I'll look around,
And when I find Susanna, I'll fall upon the ground.
But if I do not find her, then I will surely die,
And when I'm dead and buried, Oh, Susanna, don't you cry.

Morning has broken

Morning has broken like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven

Like the first dewfall on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight

Mine is the morning
Born of the one light Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise ev'ry morning
God's recreation of the new day

Reach out and touch

Reach out and touch

Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

Let there be love shared among us

Let there be love in our eyes
May now Your love sweep this nation.
Cause us oh Lord to arise
Give us a fresh understanding
Of brotherly love that is real,
Let there be love shared among us,
Let there be love – Reach out and
Show a little bit of love

Show a little bit of love and kindness,

Never go around with hatred's blindness,
Take a little time to reach for joy, and wear a happy face!

That's the way to make the world a happy place!

Sleepy Joe

Rise and shine, sleepy Joe

Now’s the time, don’t you know
To get into a new kind of dream
You’ve been living alone
With no Bell telephone
And you don’t have a shirt that is clean
You can rest your head
On the corner of your bed
You can watch the world go by
But you never gonna see
What the other people see
If you’re always gonna be a sleepy joe.

Rise and shine, sleepy Joe

There are places to go
There are windows to clean on the way
You’ve got nothing to loose,
But the shine on your shoes
Do the best things you can every day.
You can get upset, at the way the people get
You can turn your back on the crowd
But you never gonna see
What is absolutely real
If you’re always gonna be a sleepy Joe.

Swing low sweet chariot

Swing low, sweet chariot,

Coming for to carry me home.
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

I looked over Jordan, what do I see,

Coming for to carry me home.
A band of angels coming after me,
Coming for to carry me home.

I looked over Jordan, what do I see,

Coming for to carry me home.
A band of angels coming after me,
Coming for to carry me home.

Swing low, sweet chariot,

Coming for to carry me home.
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

"Plantation Boy"

Lots of people walk about proud and free

Lift up your head start looking around
There's a brand new feeling of liberty
Like a clear bell that's starting to sound

Plantation Boy
C'mon and get going
Yesterday's chains have broken in two
Plantation Boy
The new move is growing
Reaching the hills and the valleys and you
Plantation Boy
Plantation Boy

Lots of smiling faces for you to meet

So many hands to help you along
Just shake off the mud that weighs down your feet
If you stand tall you just can't go wrong

Bon Voyage
On The Good Ship Lollipop
It's a sweet trip to a candy shop
Where bon-bons play
On the sunny beach of Peppermint Bay

Lemonade stands everywhere

Crackerjack bands fill the air
And there you are
Happy landing on a chocolate bar

See the sugar bowl do the tootsie roll

With the big bad devil's food cake
If you eat too much, ooh-ooh
You'll awake with a tummy ache

Que será

When I was just a little girl

I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty
Will I be rich
Here's what she said to me

Chorus - Que será, será

Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que será, sera
What will be, will be

When I grew up and fell in love

I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows
Day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said - Que sera

Now I have children of my own

They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome
Will I be rich
I tell them tenderly - Que sera

Supercalifragilistic

It's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Even though the sound of it
Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I

Because I was afraid to speak

When I was just a lad
Me father gave me nose a tweak
And told me I was bad
But then one day I learned a word
That saved me aching nose
The biggest word you ever heard
And this is how it goes

Oh, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Even though the sound of it
Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I…
Children of paradise.

Children of paradise
We started out there
Full of innocence in our eyes
And without a care.

We are children of paradise

We knew of no crime
Until one of the meanest lies
Has changed our time.

It was long ago

In the early morning glow
When it all began with Adam and Eve.
They were young and free
And for all eternity
They were meant to feel
No trouble no grief.- Children of paradise

We're the children of paradise

In search of the light
That was put in paradise
And started the night.

It was long ago

We are children of paradise

We are the children of paradise

Who didn't obey
When we followed the wrong advise
We wandered astray.
We are the children of paradise
In search of the light

It was long ago

Massachusetts

Feel I'm goin' back to Massachusetts

Something's telling me I must go home
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
The day I left her standing on her own

Tried to hitch a ride to San Francisco

Gotta do the things I wanna do
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
They brought me back to see my way with you

Talk about the life in Massachusetts

Speak about the people I have seen
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
And Massachusetts is one place I have seen

I will remember Massachusetts

500 Miles

If you missed the train I'm on

You will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles
A hundred miles, a hundred miles,
A hundred miles, a hundred miles

You can hear the whistle blow a hundred miles

Not a shirt on my back
Not a penny to my name
And the land that I once loved is not my own

Lord I'm one, Lord I'm two,

Lord I'm three, Lord I'm four
Lord I'm five hundred miles away from home

A hundred tanks along the square

One man stands and stops them there
Someday soon the tide'll turn and I'll be free
I'll be free, I'll be free
I'll come home to my country
Someday soon the tide'll turn and I'll be free

Hooray ! It’s a Holiday

Digge ding ding ding digge digge ding ding

Wedding Banquet

Chorus:
I cannot come to the banquet, I cannot come to the banquet,
don't trouble me now.
I have married a wife; I have bought me a cow.
I have fields and commitments that cost a pretty sum.
Pray, hold me excused, I cannot come.

1. A certain man held a feast on his fine estate in town.

He laid a festive table and wore a wedding gown.
He sent invitations to his neighbours far and wide
but when the meal was ready, each of them replied:

2. The master rose up in anger, called his servant by name,

said: "Go into the town, fetch the blind and the lame,
fetch the peasant and the pauper, for this I have willed,
my banquet seem so crowded, and my table must be filled.

3. When all the poor had assembled, there was still room to spare,
so the master demanded: "Go search every where,
to the highways and the byways and force them to come in.
My table must be filled before the banquet can begin.

4. Now God has written a lesson for the rest of the mankind;
If we're slow a responding, he may leave us behind.
He's preparing a banquet for that great and glorious day
when the Lord and Master calls us, be certain not to say:

God still loves the world

Every tiny star that twinkles in the night sky

Every drop of morning dew
Every spark of fire blazing in the furnace
Every captivating view
Every rainbow in the sky every pretty butterfly
Tells the fascinating news to those who dare to hope...
Chorus

And the message is

God still loves the world, God still, still loves the world
So throw your life into his hands,
Day by day discern his plans
God is passionately busy loving you and me

Every ocean wave that breaks upon the seashore

Every stalk of golden wheat
Every silver stream that gushes down the mountains
Ever drop of honey sweet
Every eagle flying high
Every worm that wriggles by
Tells the fascinating news to those who dare to hope... - Chorus

Rivers of Babylon

By the rivers of babylon, there we sat down

Ye-eah we wept, when we remembered zion

When the wicked

Carried us away in captivity
Requiering of us a song
Now how shall we sing the lord's song in a strange land

Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts
Be acceptable in thy sight here tonight
By the rivers of babylon, there we sat down
Ye-eah we wept, when we remembered zion

By the rivers of babylon (dark tears of babylon)

There we sat down (you got to sing a song)
Ye-eah we wept, (sing a song of love)
When we remember zion (yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)

By the rivers of babylon (rough bits of babylon)

There we sat down (you hear the people cry)
Ye-eah we wept, (they need their god)
When we remember zion (ooh, have the power)
